Troy, Mich., October 12, 2009 – Glenn Hodges, PhD, has joined Walsh College as an assistant professor of Management and International
Business. Dr. Hodges, who is fluent in German and has conducted business in more than a dozen countries, joins Walsh from Chrysler LLC.

“We are privileged to have Dr. Hodges here at Walsh,” said Sheila Ronis, PhD, director of the MBA/MSSL Program and associate professor at Walsh College. “He is going to bring not only his extensive international experience and knowledge, but also his understanding of the real world from a level that very few get to see.”

At Chrysler, Dr. Hodges was most recently senior manager of strategic projects and competitive intelligence/business strategy. He led major internal consulting projects, developed the Chrysler Competitive Intelligence function, and conducted strategic partner evaluation analyses for top management.
Dr. Hodges negotiated with CEOs and top executives of four major Indian manufacturers, led efforts to identify major fixed and variable cost reductions, and led all core strategic processes within business strategy as senior manager of strategic planning. Dr. Hodges joined the company in 1997 in Belgium at Chrysler Europe.

Prior to Chrysler LLC, Dr. Hodges was area account executive of fountain sales at Coca-Cola USA, managing chain accounts for Arkansas as well as managing local accounts and in-store marketing for eastern Oklahoma as territory sales manager.

Currently, Dr. Hodges is vice president of strategy for Synergistics Ltd., a start-up business development consulting firm focusing on China market entry strategy, market and competitive assessment, partner and investor identification, and negotiation strategy and support.

Dr. Hodges holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Marketing from Michigan State University, where he is a member of its Management Advisory Board. Dr. Hodges has an MBA from Georgetown University and a Ph.D. from the Technische Universität Berlin.
