Every semester Walsh College graduates many successful students. Each alum has a different story on how they came to be where they are and how Walsh has helped them. Walsh is proud of each and every student that walks in our doors ready to learn and walks out a graduate. Below are a couple of highlights about our accomplished alums.
John Latella, MSF 1999:
John has been the Chief Operating Officer at Garden Fresh Gourmet since 2007. Garden Fresh Gourmet is the market leader in the fresh salsa category and one of the country’s most successful brands in the deli department of the grocery store. With total revenue around $100 million, supporting over 425 employees and their families, the Garden Fresh line of salsas, hummus, dips, and tortilla chips is augmented by a robust private-label business.
We asked John what advice would you give a new alum or current student?
“Please find time for yourself and personal interests outside of your education. Too many of us sacrifice relationships, hobbies, etc. to try and get ahead. A truly successful individual will find the appropriate work/life balance and ultimately thrive in their career.”
Crystal Arcicovich, BBA-MGT 2009
Crystal is the Corporate Event Sales Manager at Star Lanes @ Emagine Royal Oak. Since graduating from Walsh with her Bachelors in Business Administration with a major in management, she remains involved with Walsh College through her committee work with the Walsh College Foundation Wine Gala and as the Vice Chairperson for the Walsh College Alumni Association Casino Night.
We asked Crystal what advice would you give a new alum or current student?
“Take risks and try something new. You will never know unless you try, and if you don't try you will always wonder. Don't be afraid to fail, because most of the time you will succeed in one way or another.”
