Tutoring Fund Helps Students Find Success

For most students, an education can enhance their lives as well as their careers. At Walsh College, our greatest priority is helping students achieve academic success. There are many factors that determine that success. For some students, coursework comes naturally; for others, it can be demanding. When presented with challenging material, many students seek additional help through one-on-one tutoring. The personal attention these students receive can be a critical factor in their overall education. It may be the difference between a successful learning experience and a failure. BAC student Erin Nielsen attended an open writing lab last spring to assist her on a paper for her Business Law class. She has been using the tutoring services

Danielle Crane is the chief administrative officer for GreenPath, Inc. She leads the Human Resources, Training & Development, Education, and Workforce Management functions. GreenPath is a national, non-profit organization, headquarted in Farmington Hills, Mich. It focuses on helping individuals achieve financial wellness. Counselors help clients gain control of their lives and teach the skills that are required for long- term financial success. Out of 500 employees at GreenPath, Inc., more than 300 support the southeast Michigan community.

Applauding Alumni: Brian Pilarski, MSM '07

Brian Pilarski has a passion for education. He completed his BSBA at Central Michigan University, graduating cum laude. His education at CMU was partially funded by National Collegiate Board of Trustees academic scholarship. While working, he completed his Master of Science in Management from Walsh College. Brian is a partner for the Cornerstone Charter Schools where he donates his time, resources, and energy to further their mission. He also held the position of president for the Walsh College Alumni Association for two consecutive terms: the first and only president to do so in the association’s history. He continues his commitment to higher education by sitting on the Walsh College Foundation Board as the youngest director of the board

Applauding Alumni: James L. Murawski, MST '82

James Murawski, MST ’82, Walsh alumnus, is vice president, Information Technology, Global Business Processes and chief information officer for Lear Corporation. He joined the Lear team in 2003 as the vice president, Internal Audit and has held various positions during his tenure, including vice president, Operational Finance. Previously, he spent 14 years in public accounting with Deloitte & Touche and has held various accounting and finance leadership positions at Collins & Aikman, TRW, and LucasVarity.
