Every year for the past eight years, The Walsh Leadership Center has highlighted the contributions of family business to the area’s economy by featuring a success story. Our past Success Story speakers include:
White Castle, Jamie Richardson, Fourth Generation Board Member
Two Men and A Truck, Melanie Bergeron, Second Generation President
Carhartt, Jennifer Piscopink, non-family executive of third generation family owned business
Garden Fresh Gourmet, John Latella, non-family executive of family owned business
Hiller’s Markets, Jim Hiller, Second Generation President
Crain’s, Keith Crain, Second Generation Owner
Weight Watchers, Florine Mark, Owner
Chelsea Milling, Howdy Holmes, Eighth Generation President

Last year we launched the Family Business Honor Roll, in recognition of our family business members, and to foster communication between them.

On June 6, 2013 we will host our next success story as we welcome Lou Schmidt, Jr., president of HoneyBaked Ham and a Walsh College graduate. He will discuss how the third generation business became a household name and how the family has evolved in the business. Visit the webpage for more info and registration.
