  • Basma Bekdache, Ph.D. is an Adjunct Professor in the economics and finance department and has been teaching at Walsh since the fall of 2007.  She teaches Economics courses in the graduate program focusing on Survey of Economics and Managerial economics taken by the MBA and MSF students.  She also taught an undergraduate course on financial markets. Prior to joining Walsh, Dr. Bekdache held an Assistant Professor position in the department of economics at Wayne State University where she specialized in teaching doctoral level courses in monetary economics. While at Wayne State University, she also taught undergraduate and Masters level courses in macroeconomics and worked with a number of graduate students on dissertations and masters theses. Dr. Bekdache has published papers in applied economics and finance journals. Her research focused on empirical studies of the term structure of interest rates and financial markets.  Since joining Walsh, she also became interested in online learning and developing courses for online delivery.  Dr. Bekdache holds a B.A. in Finance and a master's of Arts in Economics from the University of Toledo, and a Ph.D. in Economics (with a concentration in Finance and Econometrics) from Boston College.
