Justin P. Crane, Manager of Reporting and Analysis of General Motors has over 10 years of professional experience in financial accounting. He is responsible for preparing and analyzing financial results to key stakeholders internally and externally including the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors and statements and footnote preparation for required SEC filings. In his role he executes and oversees internal controls operation and effectiveness over his responsible areas, and assists in the development of accounting policies and technical accounting matters as it pertains to his areas of the financial statements and footnotes. As part of his duties he also serves as liaison between regional and business unit accounting teams, for reporting impacts of significant and unusual transactions and primary contact with the external auditors for his responsible areas. Other recent assignments within General Motors include Sr. Financial Analyst in consolidations team which included consolidation of multi-location trial balances and performing consolidated journal entries.
Justin most recently was a Manager of Audit & Advisory Business Services with Ernst & Young LLP where he oversaw GAAS and PCAOB compliant audits and interim reviews of clients ranging from multi-national public registrants; as well as, foreign subsidiaries of European entities reporting in IFRS, and non-profit enterprises including healthcare. Justin also participated in advisory services related to material weakness and significant deficiency remediation and assistance with fresh-start accounting of for a major OEM.
Justin also has taught graduate and undergraduate financial accounting and audit courses at Walsh College, an accredited business school that offers degrees at the bachelor, master, and doctoral levels since 2010.
Justin earned a B.B.A. in Accounting and Finance, and an M.B.A with a concentration in accounting from Grand Valley State University. He is a Certified Public Accountant in the state of Michigan, and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants professional organizations.
