Steve Haener is the Global Sales Promotion Manager at Cadillac, part of General Motors. In this position, Haener is responsible for building Cadillac’s global brand identity and driving a clear and consistent brand strategy across all of its channels, products and markets. As part of his portfolio, he oversees experiential activity and sponsorship programs that impact Cadillac’s broader brand image, as well as advertising, large scale media properties and promotional marketing programs, including Vehicle Launches, Auto Shows, Branded Entertainment, Luxury Partnerships and Licensing.
His experience has also included major brand building roles on the SAAB, AC Delco, and portfolio of GM Powertain brands such as Northstar, Allison Transmission, Duramax Diesel, and VORTEC.
Steve is also a 2013 alumnus of the prestigious American Swiss Foundation’s Young Leaders Conference. The YLC initiated in 1990 to create person-to-person exchange and foster mutual understanding among the next generation of leaders in Switzerland and the United States. Held in Switzerland each year, the conference brings together approximately 50 Americans and Swiss aged 28-40 for a week of intensive discussion and exchange on a broad range of current issues of importance to American-Swiss relations; meetings with high-level diplomatic, government, business, media, and cultural leaders; and excursions to Switzerland’s beautiful mountains and historic landmarks.
Steve has been an adjunct professor of Marketing at Walsh College since March 2009 and is the father of three boys living in metro Detroit. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Marketing from Hillsdale College and an MBA from Wayne State University in Detroit.
In his spare time Steve enjoys spending time with his boys and any kind of physical activity including golf and competing in triathlons.
