Research
Dr. Konyu-Fogel is active in research on global leadership skills, talent management and human resource sustainability. She has authored six books and dozens of articles in refereed journals and proceedings. Her research area includes global workforce management, international human resource management, labor laws and policies, cross-cultural leadership, global competencies, global mindset, and cross-cultural management. She has collaborated both internationally and nationally on research on labor relations, global leadership development, business conditions in China, globalization and its impact on Caribbean countries, EMU policies and EU accession, and management training in Central and Eastern Europe.

Biography
Dr. Gyongyi (Georgine) Konyu-Fogel teaches global human resource management in the MBA and M.S. Management Programs. She is a full-time doctoral faculty in management. She reviews and initiates curriculum development, serves on the Doctor of Management Review Committee, advises graduate students, and participates in institutional and departmental committees, scholarly research, consulting, and professional development. Before joining Walsh College as a Professor in the summer of 2012, Dr. Konyu-Fogel was an Associate Professor of Business Administration at Bemidji State University, Minnesota, where she taught strategic management, law and business, and international management. Dr. Konyu-Fogel has over 20 years experience in human resources, global workforce management, organizational development, leadership, and cross-cultural business practices. She has taught at the doctoral, master’s, and undergraduate levels in face-to-face, virtual blended, and online environments. She taught doctoral research seminars at California Southern University and served on many dissertation committees in business at Northcentral University, Arizona. She also taught graduate and undergraduate management at the University of North Carolina at Pembroke, University of Maryland University College, Salem International University, Glenville State College, West Virginia University at Parkersburg, and Lawrence Technological University, Michigan where she worked as a Post-graduate Research Fellow and Director of Programs at the Global Leadership Center with a focus on business outreach in Southeast Michigan. She has experience in higher education administration as a Department Chair of Management Studies and Director of MBA Program at Salem International University, Vice President of Administration, Finance, and Business at Glenville State College, and Assistant Academic Dean of Instruction at West Virginia University at Parkersburg.
Dr. Konyu-Fogel has an extensive industry experience in international business and product management at Fortune 500 companies in the United States and Europe working as program director, buyer and account executive. She was senior executive at New York Life Insurance Co., Products Exchange Inc., New York, Universal Elevator Co., New York, and at Health Marketing Associates in New York. She negotiated with international clients, home- and host-country suppliers, distributors, and retailers, managed cross-functional teams, and developed employee training, need assessment, and employee relations programs. In addition, she worked as a senior global product and project manager at Hungarocoop Trading Budapest, IBUSZ International Travel Budapest, and Hungarian Optical Works, Budapest where she supervised global customer relations, exports of medical equipment, electrical and technical instruments, joint ventures, turnkey projects, and management contracts. She was responsible for global client relations, international trade development, and business research and analysis.
Dr. Konyu-Fogel was a Visiting Guest Professor and Researcher in the International Leadership and Management Programs at the University of Pecs, Hungary in the Fall of 2005 and the Summer of 1994 when she conducted research on market reforms and SME development in Central and Eastern Europe. She also served as a Salzburg Fellow on the Euro and Its Implications to the World in Salzburg, Austria in 2002 and was a Seminar Leader of Cross-Cultural Business Negotiations, Joint Ventures in China, and Management Training at the International Management Development Center, University of Pittsburgh. She served as a John Maxwell Scholar Diplomat Fellow of the West Virginia Consortium for Faculty and Course Development in International Studies (FACDIS) in Washington, D. C. for more than ten years working on global projects and internationalizing business programs and education. Dr. Konyu-Fogel studied international and cross-cultural management at the Study-Abroad Program of Eurozentre in Cambridge, England, received a Certificate in Teaching International Management from the University of South Carolina, and is an SBDC Certified Management Consultant in Supervising, Project Management, Export Management, and Legal Compliance. She has served as a consultant for many U.S., European, and international organizations on global business and human resource management issues.
Dr. Konyu-Fogel regularly contributes her expertise on workforce management, leadership, human resources, and international labor relations at regional, national, and international conferences serving as session chair, panel discussant, paper reviewer, and program director. She has been a member of the Editorial Board of the Journal of Global Economy Quarterly since 2006, served on the Prentice Hall Global Portal Focus Group on International Business, and been a Paper Reviewer of the Academy of International Business Midwest for many years.

Dr. Konyu-Fogel received the Distinguished Best-Paper Award for Conference Theme at the 2012 North American Management Society Conference in Chicago for “Building Learning Communities Utilizing Team-Based Learning in an Online Environment, co-authored with DuBois, M., & Wallingford, V. and the 2011 Academy of International Business Midwest Best-Doctoral Student Paper-Award at the Midwest Business Administration (MBAA) International Conference for “Exploring the effects of demographic and organizational factors of global mindset of business leaders: An empirical multi-industry study from five continents.” She also received the 2004 Midwest Business Administration Leadership and Service Award for her service as President-Elect and Program Chair of the Association of Business Economics, 2002-03 Scholar Diplomat Fellow Award in Washington, D.C. for her service in the West Virginia Consortium for Faculty and Course Development in International Studies (FACDIS), 2002 Salzburg Fellow Award on the Euro, Salzburg, Austria, 2000-2001 Teaching Excellence Award, Association of the Collegiate Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP), 2001 Teaming-to-Win Service Award, National Contract Manufacturing Association, Webster Award for Best Research Paper, and the 2000 Women-of-the-Year Award, National Association of Professional Women. She is an Honorary Member of Beta Sigma Delta Honor Society and Delta Mu Delta Business Honor Society, was honored by West Virginia Congressman Allan Mollohan in 2001 with a Certificate of Appreciation for Exemplary Service to the Business Community, and was a Sam M. Walton Fellow of the Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) at Bemidji State University and Salem International University. She is listed in Cambridge Who is Who, Who is Who in International Business, Who is Who in International Higher Education, and Who is Who in Business.
