Filing Deadlines

When is the last day to complete the FAFSA for the 2013-2014 Academic year?
The Free Application for Federal Student Aid must be received by the processor by June 30, 2014.

The recommended filing deadline for consideration for state tuition grant funding is March 1, 2013.

The 2013-2014 academic year covers:

  • Fall 2013
  • Winter 2014
  • Spring 2014
  • Summer 2014

The FAFSA must be filed once each academic year to be evaluated for federal and state aid.

When are the Scholarship deadlines?
Scholarships are limited to new undergraduate students prior to attendance.  The suggested filing deadlines are:

Starting   For New, Incoming Undergraduate Students
Fall   August 1st
Winter   November 1st
Spring   February 1st
Summer   March 1st

Once an application is received it will be valid for the remainder of the academic year.

When will Financial Aid and Scholarships be applied to student tuition accounts?

If the student has been determined eligible to receive financial aid and/or a scholarships, payments will be applied after the drop/add period each semester. Payments are based on the credits for which you are enrolled. You must be enrolled at least half-time after the Drop/Add period for payment to be applied to your account. Disbursement dates are as follows:

 Fall 2013 October 2013 
 Winter 2014  January 2014
 Spring 2014  April 2014
 Summer 2014  July 2014

Entrance and Exit Counseling for Student Loan Borrowers
Federal Direct Loans and Graduate PLUS loan borrowers at Walsh College are required to participate in loan counseling. Student loan borrowers who are obligated to attend will be notified. Loan counseling con be completed online at www.studentloans.gov.
