Dr. Gyongyi Konyu-Fogel, Ph.D., DBA, has over 20 years of experience in managing global business operations, including staffing, training, budgeting, compensation, employee relations, strategic planning, and quality and performance management. Her teaching background includes global workforce management, leadership, strategic management, human resource management, international business and cross-cultural business practices.
Dr. Konyu-Fogel served as Dissertation Chair of Challenges of Offshoring and Managing Global Suppliers in the Doctor of Management in Executive Leadership Program at Walsh College. In addition, Dr. Konyu-Fogel has taught doctoral research seminars and served on dissertation committees in business at North Central University and California Southern University.
Prior to Walsh, Dr. Konyu-Fogel taught at Bemidji State University, Lawrence Technological University, University of North Carolina at Pembroke, University of Maryland University College, Salem International University, Glenville State College, and West Virginia University. She was Vice President of Business Administration and Finance at Glenville State College, Assistant Academic Dean at West Virginia University Parkersburg Center, Department Chair of Management Studies & MBA Program Director at Salem International University, and Program Director, Global Leadership Center at Lawrence Technological University. As Visiting Professor in International Leadership at Janus Pannonius University, Hungary, she conducted research on business conditions in the EU and Eastern Europe. She was Salzburg Fellow on the Euro, consultant on joint ventures in China, Eurozentre Scholar in Cambridge, England, and John Maxwell Scholar Diplomat Fellow in Washington, D.C.
Dr. Konyu-Fogel was senior executive at Products Exchange Co., NY, account manager and international trade representative at Hungarocoop Trading Company, director at IBUSZ Travel, and export manager of medical equipment, electrical instruments, and management contracts at Hungarian Optical Works Budapest. She has degrees in Doctor of Business Administration, Lawrence Technological University, Ph. D., MBA, M.S., West Virginia University, and B.S. in International Business and Executive Leadership, College of Foreign Trade and International Business, Budapest, Hungary.
Dr. Konyu-Fogel has authored six books and numerous articles in refereed journals and proceedings. She frequently presents at conferences, is member of Prentice Hall Global Portal Focus Group, and received the McGraw-Hill Distinguished Publishing Award in Management, North American Management Society Award in Teaching Management, Best Paper Award in Strategy, 2012 Award on Conference Theme, Midwest Business Administration Association Leadership Award, Academy of Business Economics Program Chair Service Award, and 2001 Regional Teaching Excellence Award, Association of Collegiate Business Schools and Programs. She is member of the Detroit Chapter of Society of Human Resource Management.
