There are some great sites out there to help you with your homework. And I don’t mean downloading term papers! You may know students who have taken the easy way out and bought a term paper, either online or from a friend. They may tell you that everyone is doing it. Well, everyone is not doing it. Anyway, as always, there’s a catch to the quick and easy solution.

First of all, your teachers give you assignments so that you can learn. In doing so, not only do you learn about the assignment subject, you learn about learning. This is an important skill that will carry you through college or into the work world.

Second, some of your teachers are probably using a computer service that tells them which papers are original and which are not. There are web sites that teachers can subscribe to and send in your term papers. They will then get a report back on how much of your work is originally and how much is “borrowed.”

But you know that getting caught isn’t the biggest problem. The real problem is how you handle the situation and that speaks about the kind of person you are and always want to be.

With school, sports or other outside activities, sometimes even work; it’s easy to be tempted to take shortcuts. But there really are no shortcuts to success. If you find that you are overwhelmed with all that you have to do, talk. Talk to your parents, your teacher, your school counselor. It’s their job to help you work through these problems so that you can succeed in life.
