Ms. Aré is director of the Oakland County Business Center, which counsels established small business owners and prospective entrepreneurs who would like to start their own businesses. She is also president of Strategic Thinktank, Inc., a business consulting firm based in Farmington Hills.
After working for corporations for a decade, Ms. Aré began acquiring hands-on experience with small businesses in a variety of industries. Ms. Aré has more than 18 years of small business experience and is a certified business consultant through the Michigan Small Business & Technology Development Centers (MI-SBTDC). She received this designation when she worked for the MI-SBTDC at Walsh College in Troy and at Schoolcraft College in Livonia, where she was a part-time business counselor and taught entrepreneur classes.
