Monday, July 30, 2012 - Catherine Berrahou Joins Walsh College as Director of Financial Aid and Scholarships

Catherine Berrahou of Rochester Hills has joined Walsh College as director of financial aid and scholarships.

Berrahou manages federal, state, and institutional scholarship programs, reconciles loans and grant disbursements, and awards and disburses financial aid and scholarships.

“The financial aid process can often be intimidating and complex for students to navigate,” Berrahou said. “I intend to use my knowledge and experience in financial aid to help Walsh College students successfully navigate this process.”

Berrahou has 35 years of extensive financial aid experience working in the public and non-profit sectors. Before joining Walsh, Berrahou worked for Oakland University, where she served as associate director of financial aid.

“Catherine brings to Walsh the perspectives of working in public and non-profit institutions and understands how changes to the financial aid landscape affect students in each,” said Victoria Scavone, Walsh College Assistant Vice President of Enrollment and Student Services. “Our diverse student population will also benefit from Catherine’s comprehensive knowledge of federal and state programs, and financial aid regulations and policies.”

Berrahou obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Education from Illinois State University.
