Sarah K. Johnson, CPA has been an Assistant Adjunct Professor in the Accounting Department since 2011 and teaches Financial Accounting, Intermediate Accounting I and the Governmental and Not-for-Profit Accounting courses. She is passionate about students and strives to make connections between their academic learning and her business world experience.
In addition to her position at Walsh, she is the managing director of Johnson Accounting, LLC which provides professional accounting services for nonprofit organizations including: financial statement preparation and analysis, board presentations, grant reporting and invoicing, annual and programmatic budgeting, IRS Form 990 preparation and review and general oversight of the finance department.
Johnson recently conducted a lecture for the MICPA titled “Small Nonprofits, Big Issues” highlighting the accounting and auditing issues specific to nonprofits for accounting executives and experts.
Johnson earned a Masters of Business Administration in 2004 from Central Michigan University and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from University of Michigan in 2002 and is the former Finance Director for Boys & Girls Clubs of Southeastern Michigan.
