Associate Professor Greg Todd has been a Walsh College faculty member since 1991, joining the full-time faculty in 1999. He has taught at Wayne State University and served as the financial vice-president for a Detroit area automotive supplier.

Catherine Berrahou is the director of financial aid and scholarships.  Berrahou manages federal, state, and institutional scholarship programs, reconciles loans and grant disbursements, and awards and disburses financial aid and scholarships.

Berrahou has 35 years of extensive financial aid experience working in the public and non-profit sectors.  Before joining Walsh, Berrahou worked for Oakland University, where she served as associate director of financial aid.

Kara Fields is the assistant director of Records and Registration and a VA Certifying Official. She has spent over five years learning about the new Post 9/11 GI Bill. She presents on various GI Bill and Veteran topics for the Michigan higher education community. Kara specializes in the Post 9/11 GI Bill, Military Tuition Assistance programs, and assisting students in maximizing their education benefits. In addition, Kara is an energetic presenter with over 10 years experience in public speaking.

Dr. Michael Levens is the chair of marketing, information systems, and quantitative methods programs and Associate Professor of Marketing at Walsh College. Dr. Levens’ first textbook, “Introduction to Marketing”, is in use at more than 80 colleges and universities in North America and in China. His second textbook, "Principles of Marketing textbook, Marketing: Defined, Explained, Applied", is used by more than 100 colleges and universities across the world and is now in its second edition. Dr. Levens is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing and has been named to the Fulbright Specialist Roster. Read more.

Brenda Meller is the Assistant Vice President of Marketing for Walsh College and experienced in using social media for job search and networking. Her social media focus is mainly on LinkedIn, Facebook, and Twitter.

Cheryl Carr is an outreach coordinator / advisor through the Walsh College Career Services office, which assists students and alumni. Cheryl is experienced with job search assistance, practice interviews, and general career consultation. She also works with local businesses to help them recruit new employees from the qualified pool of Walsh students and graduates.

LinkedIn is the #1 professional networking site for business professionals. Executives (Director, VP, and C-Level) have unique challenges and opportunities when it comes to LinkedIn. Today’s generation is growing up with a cell phone in hand and daily logins to Facebook. If you’re like many executives, you have concerns about using social media, but also are torn about being out of the loop if you’re not on LinkedIn.

If you are an executive just getting started on LinkedIn and need some help - or if you're an executive who is already on LinkedIn but not sure if you're using the site the right way, this session is for you. 

  • An overview of LinkedIn: What is it? How is it different from other social networking sites? How can you use it most effectively as an executive? What should you do (or NOT do) as an executive?
