Scott McCown has joined Netmining as an account representative. Netmining is a provider of programmatic, data-driven, targeting solutions designed to help marketers understand and reach their audiences online. Scott earned his Bachelor of Business Administration from Walsh College in 2014.

Motor City Brew Tours

Stephen C. Johnson of Motor City Brew Tours has been honored as “The Best of Hatched” by the Michigan Business & Professional Association for the Best of MichBusiness awards. The Best of MichBusiness awards program is dedicated to recognizing those companies and individuals that make Michigan a top-notch place to do business. Steve earned his Master of Business Administration from Walsh College in 2010.

Anthony Majewski

Anthony Majewski of Read With Max, LLC has been honored as “The Best of Hatched” and “Best of Michigan Champion Small Business” by the Michigan Business & Professional Association for the Best of MichBusiness awards. The Best of MichBusiness award program is dedicated to recognizing those companies and individuals that make Michigan a top-notch place to do business. Anthony earned his Master of Business Administration from Walsh College in 2010.

Jesse Ford of The Work, Inc. has been honored as “The Best of Hatched” by the Michigan Business & Professional Association for the Best of MichBusiness awards. The Best of MichBusiness award program is dedicated to recognizing those companies and individuals that make Michigan a top-notch place to do business. Jesse earned his Bachelor of Business Administration in 2007 and his Master of Business Administration in 2010 from Walsh College.

Denise Kulak of Other Fun Stuff! has been honored as the “One Person Wonder” by the Michigan Business & Professional Association for the Best of MichBusiness awards. The Best of MichBusiness awards program is dedicated to recognizing those companies and individuals that make Michigan a top-notch place to do business. Denise earned her Bachelor of Business Administration from Walsh College in 2000.

Leanna (Harrouk) Haun of Picasso’s Grapevine, LLC has been honored as “Stellar Start Up” by the Michigan Business & Professional Association for the Best of MichBusiness awards. The Best of MichBusiness awards program is dedicated to recognizing those companies and individuals that make Michigan a top-notch place to do business. Leanna earned her Bachelor of Business Administration from Walsh College in 1996.

Joan Hennessey of Hennessey Engineers has been honored as “The CPA That Adds Up” by the Michigan Business & Professional Association for the Best of MichBusiness awards. The Best of MichBusiness awards program is dedicated to recognizing those companies and individuals that make Michigan a top-notch place to do business. Joan earned her Master of Science in Taxation from Walsh College in 1996.

Lynn Valade has joined Citizens Bank as the new vice president, Health Care Practice Banking- Business Banking- Retail Division. She was formerly vice president, Business Banking- Retail Division for PNC. Lynn earned her Master of Science in Finance from Walsh College in 1996.

Craig Mathiesen has been awarded the Certified Trust & Financial Advisor (CTFA) designation from the Institute of Certified Bankers (ICB), a subsidiary of the American Bankers Association, in Washington, D.C. Craig has over 25 years of experience in public accounting. As part of the Rehmann’s Tax team, he focuses on providing a comprehensive approach to accounting, tax, and finance support for businesses and their owners. He is also the director of estate and trust administration for the firm. Craig earned his Master of Science in Taxation from Walsh College in 1993.

Rob RankinRankin Biomedical Corporation has been recognized as one of the 2014 “Michigan 50 Companies to Watch,” an awards program presented by Michigan Celebrates Small Business. Established in 1995, Rankin Biomedical has been providing the finest refurbished and new histology and cytology lab equipment to cancer research and diagnostic lab facilities throughout the world. Robert Rankin, founder and CEO of Rankin Biomedical, earned his Master of Science in Management from Walsh College in 1993.

Ford Grifo of Grifo and Company has been honored as “The CPA That Adds Up” by the Michigan Business & Professional Association for the Best of MichBusiness awards. The Best of MichBusiness awards program is dedicated to recognizing those companies and individuals that make Michigan a top-notch place to do business. Ford earned his Master of Science in Taxation from Walsh College in 1985.

Rebecca Sorensen has been identified as one of the 2014 Financial Times Top 100 Women Financial Advisers. She joins financial advisers from 25 states and Washington, D.C. on the list. The average advisor on the list manages more than $1.6 billion in AUM and has 24 years of experience. Rebecca has more than 25 years’ investment industry experience; she is a CPA, Certified Financial Planner, and Certified Investment Management Analyst. She earned her Bachelor of Accountancy from Walsh College in 1985.

Paul GlantzPaul Glantz of Emagine Theatres has been honored as the “CEO of CEOs” by the Michigan Business & Professional Association for the Best of MichBusiness awards. The Best of MichBusiness awards program is dedicated to recognizing those companies and individuals that make Michigan a top-notch place to do business. Paul earned his Master of Science in Taxation from Walsh College in 1984.

Class of 1976

Jeffrey Groen has been honored as the Distinguished Alumni by Walsh College at the Leadership Awards dinner. This black-tie event at the MGM Grand Detroit honored Jeff along with Mathew Simoncini of Lear Corporation and George and Elizabeth Seifert from the George and Elizabeth Seifert Foundation. Jeff earned his Bachelor of Accountancy in 1976 and his Master of Science in Taxation in 1981 from Walsh College.
