Class of 2013

Brian LoosBrian Loos has completed his strategic white paper on A Follow Up and a Thank You (AFUTU).  The paper discusses automating and ensuring quality control, yet maximizing a personalized verbal thank you and follow up from the sales and management team to customers, using cloud computing. The white paper is available at torrentconsulting.com/afutu. Brian earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Information Systems from Walsh College in 2013.

Class of 2010

Beth Pacurari has a new position as accounting coordinator, project management group, for UIC Construction Services, Anchorage, Alaska. She earned her Master of Business Administration from Walsh College in 2010.

Class of 2009

Samahtha HudsonSamantha Hudson was honored by the National Association of Professional Women as a 2014 Professional Woman of the Year for leadership in accounting. She is a member of the professional staff at McBride-Manley & Company, P.C., which specializes in accounting, auditing, and tax. Samantha was the recipient of the Public Service Award from the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants for her work in incorporating and applying for tax exemption for the Anchor Bay Community Giving Tree and New Baltimore Fire Fighter’s Association. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants, and the Michigan Women’s Tax Association. Samantha earned her Bachelor of Accountancy in 2009 and her Master of Accountancy in 2011 from Walsh College.

Class of 2006

Derek Miller has been admitted as the newest partner in Roslund, Prestage & Company P.C. He earned his Master of Accountancy from Walsh College in 2006.

Andrea (Duncan) Oleszczak has a new position as marketing and practice development manager for Collins Einhorn Farrell PC. She earned her Master of Science in Management from Walsh College in 2006.

Class of 2005

Kelly McEvilly has been promoted to senior manager from manager at Baker Tilly.  She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Michigan Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Kelly earned her Master of Accountancy from Walsh College in 2005.

Class of 2000

Karen Sergolia has been promoted to senior manager from manager at Baker Tilly.  She earned her Bachelor of Accountancy from Walsh College in 2000.

Class of 1998

Christine Ross has been promoted to senior manager from manager at Baker Tilly.  She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Michigan Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and the Michigan Women’s Tax Association.

Michael Czarnota

Class of 1997

R. Michael Czarnota has a new position as senior vice president and chief tax officer for Flagstar Bank. He earned his Master of Science in Taxation from Walsh College in 1997.

Class of 1991

James Grant SmithJames Grant Smith was elected to serve a one-year term on the Michigan Bankers Association Board of Directors. The Michigan Bankers Association, organized since 1887, is comprised of Michigan financial institutions that together promote strong communities and economic activity throughout our state. James joined Clarkston State Bank in 2001 and assumed the role of president and chief executive officer in 2008. He earned his Bachelor of Business Administration in 1991 and his Master of Science in Finance in 2000 from Walsh College.

Class of 1985

Dennis Rice was promoted to president of Health Management Systems of America, Detroit, from executive vice president of operations and finance. He earned his Bachelor of Business Administration from Walsh College in 1985.
