How to Network During a Golf Outing

"Golf is the most common sport played in the business world.  Even if you are totally uninterested in golf you could be missing out on a great networking opportunity. Walsh College Honors Military Graduates at 103rd Commencement and Announces Robinson-Coleman Endowed Scholarship for Veterans

Walsh College offers multiple scholarship opportunities to active military or veteran students. The most recent addition is the Robinson-Coleman Endowed Scholarship for Veterans. This scholarship was established by Amy Coleman, BAC ’90, and vice president and chief financial officer at the Kresge Foundation in Troy, Michigan. The scholarship honors several of Coleman’s family members who served in the United States military and to recognize all veterans for their valiant service.

Jeff Farrington, BBA '88, MSM '93

Jeff Farrington

Walsh alumnus and State Representative Jeff Farrington is demonstrating leadership in Lansing, business, and the local community. He is serving his second term representing the 30th House District, which covers parts of Sterling Heights, Utica, and Shelby Township. Jeff earned his Bachelor of Business Administration in 1988 and Master of Science in Management in 1993 from Walsh College. He has worked hard to eliminate burdensome regulation in Lansing, create a positive economic environment for business, and provide good jobs for the citizens of Michigan. Prior to his election as a State Representative, Jeff owned his own staffing company.

Blackstone Launchpad Member, Walsh alumna and current student, Sylvia Ruma, is in the news with her new business. Sylvia believes that simple, natural, and chemical-free is the way to live healthier lives. Ruma not only sells, but makes her own all natural, aluminum and paraben-free deodorant - Ruma Organics. The wife and mother started blending deodorant in her kitchen for personal and family-member use when she was unable to find a product that met her needs. Her chief assistant in the kitchen is her dad. Ruma Organics strives to bring organic, wholesome products from her home to yours. 

 

 

Blackstone Launchpad Member and alumna, Leanna Haun, is opening a new art studio in Clarkston, MI. You can enjoy a glass of wine while learning to paint a masterpiece at Picasso's Grapevine. Her art studio will offer open classes as well as private parties and it will be BYOB.
