Measurements

Direct:  Assignments embedded in 46 classes across all Walsh College degree programs.  

  • Instructor received randomly selected names of ten students in their course.
  • Instructors completed standard template (rubric) to evaluate the student performance in written communication and problem-solving skills. 
  • Instructor selected assignment from course syllabus to evaluate student learning, using a scale of Excels, Acceptable, or Needs Improvement.

Direct:  Collegiate Learning Assessment (CLA)

  • Holistic assessment of critical thinking, analytic reasoning, problem solving, and written communication skills
  • Stratified random sampling technique

Results

  • From entrance through completion, pre- and post-test scores increased by 47 points.  
  • Walsh students scored higher than the national average for the CPA examination sections on financial accounting and auditing
  • Scores for the overall CPA entire examination closely tracked the national average.
  • 92% of the seniors surveyed reported that the program quality was “good to excellent”.
  • Virtually all alumni surveyed reported that the program prepared them to meet their career goals.  

Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA)

  • Business Major Field Test (MFT) scores increased dramatically from entrance through completion.
  • 78% of seniors reported that the quality of the program was “good to excellent.” 
  • 94% of alumni reported that the program prepared them to meet their career goals.

Results

  • Students did a good job integrating concepts into reasonable points, with competent or better narratives with examples, construction, and sentence structure.
  • 78% of graduating students surveyed reported that the quality of the BBA-MGT program was “good to excellent.” 
  • Virtually all alumni surveyed reported that the program prepared them to meet their career goals. 

Master of Business Administration (MBA)

Results

  • Test scores improved strongly from the time students entered the MBA program until they graduated.
  • Walsh average score for the MBA Major Field Test tracked the national average.
  • 86% of graduating students reported that the quality of the MBA program was “good to excellent”. 
  • 95% of alumni reported that the program prepared them to meet their career goals.
