Recent News

Walsh College doctoral student David H. Olszewski presented his paper entitled, "Assessment of Contemporary Industrial Engineering Skills," at the Institute of Industrial Engineers (IIE) Annual Conference and Expo in June 2010.

The paper and presentation is based on David's initial dissertation work with Walsh College’s Dr. James McHann.



Walsh College doctoral student Rita Fields was a speaker at the May 2010 Henry Ford Educational Symposium, "Going Radical: Changing the Hospital of the Future." More.



Walsh College doctoral student David Bazzetta was a guest lecturer in an MBA Organizational Development class at the University of Detroit Mercy in March 2010.

His lecture was titled “Identifying Ethical Leaders for the Learning Organization,” based on his initial dissertation work on ethical leadership and his experience in creating learning organizations at Chrysler and BASF.



The Doctor of Management (DM) in Executive Leadership at Walsh College: A part-time doctoral degree program for full-time working professionals. The DM offers a doctoral education in management that advances knowledge through theory and applied research and shapes candidates to lead effectively in a business environment and serve the profession by consulting, teaching, and engaging in active research.

Applications are now being accepted for the next cohort of students starting the program in September 2011. Application deadline is March 1, 2011.

A DOCTORAL DEGREE THAT LINKS BUSINESS THEORIES AND PRACTICE

The doctoral program is different by design. The emphasis is on taking the theoretical and applying it in the real world. The program is designed for working professionals, so it offers a mix of on-campus and online courses taught by business leaders with a diverse range of experience. The DM cohort of no more than 15 degree candidates moves as a unit through the program. You will collaborate with faculty and peers to gain the business acumen and wisdom that you’ll never find in a text book.

The successful candidates will have their leadership and academic skills challenged. At the end of the program of study you will have been exposed to the fields of change management, ethics, problem solving, entrepreneurship, global, technological, systems thinking, team building, computational skills, and research skills.

 

Accreditation
The DM program is accredited through The Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools (NCA).
