Faculty Profile: Dr. Michael P. Levens

Walsh College has done its homework. One of the primary goals is to have well respected and highly skilled business leaders teaching our courses. Many of our faculty members have made a global impact on their industry through research and implementation.

The next faculty profile is of Dr. Michael P. Levens, PhD.  Dr. Levens is an extremely distinguished faculty member. He has received over 15 awards and scholarship over the last 30 years, one of which being the Fulbright Specialist Roster in 2010, in addition to over 100 research projects he has conducted throughout the world. He is the chair of Business Administration and an associate professor of Marketing. 

Dr. Levens was kind enough to answer a few questions so all of you could get to know him a bit better!

Travel – 42 countries, 5 continents and counting; triathlon and distance running

What was your dream growing up?

Music – studied piano and euphonium at Interlochen, toured Europe in an orchestra

Why did you decide to teach?

Enjoyed leading corporate training seminars and mentoring employees and ultimately decided teaching was my calling

Most fond memory at Walsh College

I am proud of the many amazing accomplishments of our students, alumni, staff and faculty. I am regularly reminded of the high quality of our students by the continued strong performance in the ACG Detroit Cup and other competitions.

Advice for students

Remember to take full advantage of the knowledge and experiences of your instructors and classmates. It is not just about the subjects that you study at Walsh College. There is a broader context of learning that can make your life richer from your experiences at Walsh College.
