The Graduate Communication Assessment must be proctored, and an appointment is required. It may be taken at the Troy or Novi Campus, or an approved external testing site.

Students are not charged a fee for the Graduate Communication Assessment. The Graduate Communication Assessment is administered online and timed at 30 minutes. It is not repeatable.

Students are eligible to complete the Graduate Communication Assessment once they have applied and been admitted to Walsh College.

The Graduate Communication Assessment will assess writing skills in three areas:

  • Grammar and mechanics
  • Style
  • Organization and development

Students who do not meet the cut score will be required to complete additional assignments and meet weekly with a tutor while enrolled in COM 510.
