Walsh College Leadership Awards Dinner Raises Over $100,000

On Saturday, October 29th over 285 alumni and friends of Walsh College gatherd at the Royal Park Hotel to celebrate the achivements of four outstanding individuals in our community.

  Paul Glantz, MST ’84, President of Emagine Entertainment; and President & CEO of Proctor Financial; received the 2011 Distinguished Alumni Award; and Stephanie Baron, MBA ’10 received the 2011 Distinguished Graduate of the Last Decade Award.

“We are thrilled to honor such amazing people from our local community” said Audrey Olmstead, Chief Development Officer. “Each of our honorees have made a big impact on our region and we are proud to add their names to our distinguished list of honorees.”

The event was emceed by FOX2 anchor Huel Perkins and featured a silent auction and raffle. Guests enjoyed dinner and a dessert afterglow with music performed by the Acoustic Jazz Network. All funds raised benefit the Walsh College Scholarship Fund.

About the awards
Established in 2000, the Jeffery W. Barry Award for Educational Excellence & Community Service is the College's most prestigious awards.  It is given out annually to individuals that demonstrate leadership in their chosen field of business and a commitment to the community through their philanthropic efforts.  The award is named after long-time Walsh President Jeffery W. Barry.

The Distinguished Alumni Award recognizes alumni that have achieved exceptional professional and personal recognition.  The recipient must have a strong record of service to their community and Walsh.

The Distinguished Graduate of the Last Decade recognizes early outstanding achievements of alumni who have graduated from Walsh within the last decade.  The recipient must demonstrate outstanding achievements in their profession, and a commitment to service in their community and Walsh College.
