Reference
Reference librarians are available to assist students in locating library materials and help them with their search strategies. Students may call (248) 823-1228, visit the library for reference help, or email their questions to librarian@walshcollege.edu. E-mail links for reference inquiries can be accessed on the web page and portal.
Library Orientations
Every semester the librarians offer tailored classroom presentations demonstrating online databases. E-mail librarian@walshcollege.edu for more information.
Classroom Reserve Materials
Materials that instructors place on reserve for student use are stored at the circulation desk.
Microfiche
A microfiche machine at the Troy Campus is available for viewing back issues of newspapers and magazines.
Photo Copy Machines
Photo copiers are available for student use at both the Troy and Novi Campus Library. The cost is $.10 per page.
Copy Cards
Students may purchase a copy card to in order to print photocopies. The initial card costs $1.00 which includes five copies. Money can be added to the copy card for additional copies.
Circulation Policies
Library Cards
Walsh students may obtain a library card at the circulation desk at either the Troy or Novi campuses by presenting a registration receipt along with a picture ID. This card is automatically updated every semester upon registration. You must present your card at the circulation desk in order to borrow materials. There is a $5.00 fee if you should lose your card. Please notify the library immediately if your card is lost or stolen. A library card-holder is responsible for all materials charged out on his or her card. Currently employed faculty and staff are also eligible for Walsh Library cards.
You must have a current library card in order to do the following:
- Check out and renew books
- Search electronic databases
- Utilize reciprocal borrowing privileges at other libraries

Unless a hold has been placed on an item, books may be renewed in person or by phone by calling (248) 823-1228.
Return of Library Materials By Novi Students
Novi campus students may return materials to either the Troy or Novi campus libraries.
Fines for Overdue Materials
Overdue materials are given a four-day grace period. After that there is a minimum charge of $1.00 per item and an additional $.25 per day for each overdue book.
Materials That May Not Be Removed From the Library
The following materials are for use in the library only:

- Tax Materials
- Reserve Materials
Michicard
