Reference
Reference librarians are available to assist students in locating library materials and help them with their search strategies. Students may call (248) 823-1335, visit the library for reference help, or email their questions to librarian@walshcollege.edu. E-mail links for reference inquiries can be accessed on the web page and portal.
Library Orientations
Every semester the librarians offer tailored classroom presentations demonstrating the CD-ROM and online databases. Call (248) 823-1254 for more information on bibliographic instruction.
Classroom Reserve Materials
Materials that instructors place on reserve for student use are stored at the circulation desk. The use of these reserve materials is limited to Walsh students.
Makeup Examinations
Students may take makeup examinations at the library after prior arrangements have been made by faculty.
Audio-Visual Equipment and Supplies
Students are encouraged to use the A-V equipment and supplies that are available to them at the library. The equipment is for in-building use only. Reservations for the equipment are made at the library circulation desk. Please have your driver's license with you when you pick up the equipment. Room reservations must be made with a faculty secretary by calling 248.823.1635.
Microforms
A microfiche machine at the Troy Campus is available for back issues of newspapers and magazines. Copies are $.10 per sheet.
Copy Machines
Two copiers are available for use by students at the Troy Campus Library at the south side of the library. There are two photocopiers at the Novi Campus Library. The cost is $.10 per page for black and white copies or $1.00 per page for a color copy.
Copy Machine Cards
Students may purchase a copy machine card for $1.00 which includes five copies. Add money to this card for additional copies. The library gives no refunds to students for any unused amount.
Circulation Policies
Library Cards
Walsh students may obtain a library card at the circulation desk at either the Troy or Novi campuses by presenting a registration receipt along with a picture ID. This card is automatically updated every semester upon registration. You must present your card at the circulation desk in order to borrow materials. There is a $5.00 fee if you should lose your card. Please notify the library immediately if your card is lost or stolen. A library card-holder is responsible for all materials charged out on his or her card. Currently employed faculty and staff are also eligible for Walsh Library cards.

Renewals
Unless a hold has been placed on an item, books may be renewed in person or by phone by calling (248) 823-1228.
Return of Library Materials By Novi Students
Novi campus students may return materials to either the Troy or Novi campus libraries.
Fines for Overdue Materials
Overdue materials are given a four-day grace period. After that there is a minimum charge of $1.00 per item and an additional $.25 per day for each overdue book or annual report.

Michicard
Walsh College participates in a statewide library card program, Michicard. Over 300 public and academic libraries in Michigan participate in Michicard. For more information, go to http://michigan.gov/michicard.
