  • Linda S. Wiechowski, PhD, is a full-time professor of finance and economics at Walsh College.  She began teaching as an adjunct in the MSF program in 1987, became an interim associate dean in 2004, and served as the finance and economics department chair from 2006 to 2013.  Dr. Wiechowski has also taught at the University of Detroit Mercy, Wayne State University and Saint Mary’s College. Dr. Wiechowski specializes in teaching financial management and economics in the MBA program as well as finance in the BBA and MSF programs. She has also taught health economics, health care finance, as well as a variety of computer courses. Dr. Wiechowski has developed and taught numerous online courses. She has also presented “Online Best Practices” at a variety of educational conferences as well as published online education articles. Dr. Wiechowski received the online faculty of the year award in 2010 and from A4EOE (Alliance for Excellence in Online Education).

    One of Dr. Wiechowski’s current research projects is the Walsh College Economic Sentiment Survey.  This is a survey that is conducted by the finance and economics department on a semi-annual basis.  The results of the survey have been picked up by hundreds of media outlets, both nationally and internationally. She is also working on several other research projects, some of which are pedagogy projects.  The pedagogy research projects include topics such as blended learning and “flipping” the classroom.
