Crain's CIO Awards

The CIO often plays the role of quiet strategy maker in the C-suite. These executives take on duties far beyond ensuring a company's technology works, they're taking on the business decisions and pushing innovation from the CIO office. Crain's Detroit Business is launching the CIO Awards, a recognition of the top technology executives in metro Detroit. It is open to the top corporate executive at any company providing strategy related to technology, or an outside contractor acting as CIO for a corporation. Winners will be chosen on a criteria of reducing cost, driving revenue and mitigating risk. Click here for more information.

Outstanding Marketing and Sales Professionals Sought for MSED Platinum Award

The Marketing & Sales Executives of Detroit (MSED) is accepting nominations of top-performing marketing and sales professionals in southeastern Michigan for the organization’s coveted Platinum Awards. Two Platinum Award winners – one individual and one team – will be honored at MSED’s 20th Annual Black-Tie Gala Dinner in October. The awards recognize work which led to the awarding or generation of new business and/or cost savings from Jan. 1, 2012 through June 1, 2013. MACPA 2013 Women to Watch

Do you know a female CPA who deserves to be recognized for her outstanding work in the accounting profession?  Nominate her today and help us put the spotlight on these exceptional individuals! The Michigan Association of CPAs, in partnership with the Women’s Initiatives Task Force and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, is looking for women who have made significant contributions to the accounting profession, or who demonstrate characteristics that have enabled them to become leaders in the profession. STATEWIDE NOMINATIONS ACCEPTED CFOs don't often receive the spotlight, but their work - ensuring the safety of the financial health of an organization - often make them the uncelebrated heroes of senior management. Budget pressures, increasing red tape, helping with tough strategic decision-making and restructuring companies in difficult times have become more common for the top finance chief. And sometimes, their efforts can mean the difference between living to fight another day or packing it up and going home. For the past six years, Crain's Detroit Business has recognized these heroes with the CFO of the Year awards program and special section.
