    Position:        Instructional Designer (temporary, part-time up to 29 hours per week)

    Reports to:    Director, Online Learning

     

    FLSA:  FSLA:           Non-exempt

    Major Responsibilities:

    • Work collaboratively with faculty and online learning staff to develop online courses and supplemental online material according to best practices and Department of Education requirements.

    • Design effective instructional materials for adult learners.

    • Coordinate production of instructional materials from various sources.

    • Recommend technologies, practices, and policies to faculty that achieve instructional goals, address learner preferences, and engage learners.

    • Evaluate quality of existing online courses.

    • Effectively communicate expectations and online pedagogy to faculty assigned to course development.

    • Store documents according to procedure and produce documentation as required.

    • Explore, test and adopt new technology and methods for online courses.

     

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree required.  Master’s degree preferred. 

    • Minimum of one year instructional design experience, including application of contemporary instructional design theories.

    • Basic knowledge of streaming audio and video, compression methods, file types and formats required.

    • Familiarity with graphic design elements appropriate for online instruction.

    • Strong computer skills, especially in using Word, PowerPoint, HTML and Excel required.

    • Ability to effectively present technical materials to non-technical audiences.

    • Excellent project management, organizational, presentation, interpersonal and written communication skills required.

    • Ability to interpret instructor needs to produce instructional materials. 

    • Proven ability to continually adapt and learn new procedures and software programs.

    • Must have proactive problem solving ability.

    • Experience in working with faculty and/or teaching online at the college level a plus.

    Position: Vice President, Chief Development Officer

    Reports to: President & Chief Executive Officer

    FLSA: Exempt

    Major Responsibilities:

    • Lead development, alumni relations, and student life functions.
    • Develop and articulate a compelling fundraising case in consultation with various constituents.
    • Design and implement comprehensive plan, including social media strategies, to achieve fundraising goals.
    • Oversee all aspects of development, including major gifts, annual giving, special events fundraising, planned giving, and corporate and foundation relations.
    • Personally solicit and secure major gifts.
    • Support and train volunteer leaders on the solicitation process.
    • Manage professional and support staff.
    • Guide activities of the Walsh College Foundation and serve as its corporate secretary.
    • Interface with the Board of Trustees and Foundation Directors; prepare reports and deliver presentations.
    • Ensure effective and efficient system for donor acknowledgement, recognition, and stewardship.
    • Ensure accurate and timely gift processing, donor records, and related reports.
    • Oversee alumni relations and student life function. Provide guidance and resources to independent Alumni Association.
    • Ensure the College is known by pertinent government representatives.
    • Manage cost center budget.
    • Work with marketing department to create publications and messaging strategies related to development.
    • Ensure integration of development and related functions with the College’s plans and operations.
    • Maintain, modify and ensure adherence to development related policies.
    • As a member of the executive team member and officer of the College, participate in institutional planning and decision-making.
    • Represent the College with various constituencies.

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Bachelor degree required.
    • Minimum of ten years of progressively responsible professional fundraising experience.
    • Successful track record of growing a fundraising program.
    • A proven leader who possesses the demeanor and presence to earn the respect of others and represent the College.
    • High energy individual with exceptional relationship building, networking, and influencing skills required.
    • Excellent oral, interpersonal, and written communication skills required.
    • Supervisory experience and mentorship of professionals required.
    • Knowledge of southeastern Michigan market and business community is preferred.
    • Knowledge of social media strategy in fundraising is preferred.
    • Experience in managing Board committees and/or a Foundation is a plus.
    • Fundraising certification is a plus.
    • Higher education experience is a plus.
    • Ability to maintain confidential information required.
    • Occasional overnight travel as well as evening and weekend hours required.

    Position: Temporary, Part-time Multimedia Associate (approximately 20 hours/week)

    Reports to: Manager, LMS & Multimedia Support, Online Learning

    FLSA: Non-Exempt

    Major Responsibilities:
    • Work with instructional designers and faculty to develop course materials using HTML/CSS.
    • Work with instructional designers to create, modify and publish PowerPoint presentations with timed animations and voice narration for online delivery.
    • Capture and load audio and video for online courses. Assist in setting up, shooting and editing video; recording and editing audio, file compression, and post production support.
    • Work collaboratively with department team members in the production of course materials.
    • Learn and adhere to procedures and workflow requirements.
    • Learn new software and tools, as required.

    Minimum Requirements:
    • Formal education in IT or related field desirable.
    • Experience with HTML and CSS required.
    • Basic Microsoft Office Suite knowledge required.
    • Experience with JavaScript/JQuery preferred.
    • Experience with creating and/or editing video preferred.
    • Ability to work individually as well as a team member required.

     Position: Part-time Video Intern (temporary)

    Reports to: Director of Marketing

    FLSA: Non-exempt

    Major Responsibilities:

    • Responsible for recording and editing videos and taking photographs for the marketing department which is responsible for a wide range of functions.

    • Video production:

      Assist in coordinating videotaping events, which will include: college events, student/alumni testimonials, staff and faculty informational videos, and ad hoc video post-production projects for the college.

      Handle all pre- and post-production to complete videos, including approval process (internal College approval and waivers from those appearing in the film).

      Post video content on College website and College YouTube channel.
    • Photography:

      Attend College events, often evening and weekend, to take photographs using department camera
      Take headshots of College faculty
      Make edits and enhancements to photographs as needed

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Pursuing a video production, photography, or related degree at an articulated community college (www.walshcollege.edu/Transfer)
    • Experience with digital video recording, digital cameras, and production techniques
    • Access to video production software for editing and post-production. Video camera and digital camera provided.
    • Must be available to work up to 20 hours per week and cover occasional evening and weekend events.

    Position: Part-time Marketing & PR Intern (temporary)

    Reports to: Marketing Manager

    FLSA: Non-exempt

    Major Responsibilities:

    • Provide support to marketing and PR department which is responsible for a wide range of functions.

    • Assist in coordinating events and advertising campaigns, college events calendar, vendor relations, webinars, marketing research, marketing communications, website updates, copywriting/proofreading, and social media.

    • Candidate must be a Walsh College student pursuing a marketing major at the bachelor’s degree level or degreed alumni.

    • Must be available to work 20 hours per week and cover occasional evening and weekend events (will schedule around courses).
