Specific course needs include accounting information systems (QuickBooks, Peachtree, Great Plans, and MS Office) and communications for accounting.

   Position:  Walsh College Yellow Suits
 We are looking for talented and outgoing personalities to represent Walsh in the community.  This includes parades, sporting events, entertainment venues and much more.  This is for an ongoing project based in metro Detroit (Michigan). 

Minimum Requirements
Applicants must be at least 18 years old to apply.
Individuals with the following backgrounds are preferred:  actors, singers, improv/comedians, dancers and Walsh students or alumni.

This is a paid project. Some months you may have one event and other months there may be one event per week.  Typically events are evenings and weekends, although there is the occasional weekday event.  There is a $50 deposit required for the Yellow Suit costume.

Postion: Director, Accounting/Controller

Reports to: Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer

FLSA: Exempt

Major Responsibilities:
• Manage business office functions, including general ledger, journal entries, accounts payable, payroll, cash management, and long term debt.
• Supervise staff members.
• Prepare monthly financial statements and clear narratives.
• Prepare for and coordinate external and operational audits.
• Assist in preparation of College’s operational and capital budget, including revenue projections. Monitor budget and analyze variances, prepare forecasts and management reports.
• Oversee preparation of Forms 5500, 990 and 1098T, payroll tax, sales tax, and other external reports.
• Manage accounting information system, including updating and testing; reporting; policies; user training and troubleshooting.
• Prepare materials for and present to the Board of Trustees, as requested.
• Update policies, procedures and internal controls for accounting and student business matters.
• Perform financial analysis and complete special projects.
• Manage business office cost center.
Ÿ Participate on College committees and cross-functional projects.
Ÿ Respond to questions from various constituents in an accurate and timely manner.
Ÿ Ensure Website pages and published material related to Business Office is accurate and user friendly.
Ÿ Stay abreast of financial and regulatory changes affecting higher education business operations.

Minimum Requirements:
• Bachelor degree in accounting; related master’s degree preferred.
• A minimum of five years professional level accounting experience.
• Experience in all aspects of accounting through preparation of financial statements, budgeting and coordination of audits or equivalent public accounting experience required.
• Experience in non-profit accounting preferred.
• Experience in supervising accounting staff required.
• Accounting certification a plus.
• Excellent computer skills and experience in accounting systems, spreadsheet, and databases.
• Strong project management and organizational skills required.
• Superior attention to detail required.
• Strong written, verbal, interpersonal, and presentation communication skills.
• Ability to work collegially with multiple constituencies in a dynamic academic environment.
• Must be able to maintain confidential information.

 Position: Part-time Evening Facilities Administrator, Troy Campus

Reports to: Evening Facilities Coordinator, Troy Campus

FLSA: Nonexempt

Major  Responsibilities:
• Respond to the needs of faculty, students, and staff members.
• Assist in ensuring the cleanliness and security of one building (110,000 square feet) and surrounding exterior during the evening and on weekends.
• Assist in supervising evening cleaning staff and cleaning vendor.
• Coordinate room arrangement, furniture, and equipment to suit faculty, staff and client needs.
• Follow security and emergency related procedures, including opening and closing the building.
• Participate in first aid/CPR training; maintain related certification.

Minimum  Requirements:
• High School Diploma or G.E.D. required.
• A minimum of one year of related experience or a combination of equivalent education and experience required.

Position: Part Time Representative (requires working two evenings until 7:00 p.m.; approximately 25 hours/week)

Reports To: Office Manager, Admissions and Academic Advising

Major Responsibilities:
• Provide coverage as front desk receptionist, answer phones, and schedule student appointments.
• Perform data entry of prospect, applicant and student information.
• Contact students via telephone regarding application information, registration, and program information.
• Provide students with informational materials on academic programs and student services.
• Provide clerical support as needed and generate student correspondence using word processing.
• Assist with special events such as open houses, information sessions and orientations.

Position: Part Time Academic Advisor
(approximately 29 hours per week)

Reports to: Assistant Director, Admissions and Academic Advising

FLSA: Exempt

Major Responsibilities:
• Advise new and continuing undergraduate and graduate students regarding academic programs, admissions requirements, and transferring of courses.
• Evaluate transfer credit and process admissions applications.
• Serve as backup International Student Advisor, with duties that include maintaining international student information in SEVIS and ensuring Walsh College remains in compliance with USCIS guidelines.
• Perform ongoing follow-up with prospective and current students.
• Advise continuing students on academic progress, academic policies, graduation and problem resolution.
• Recruit new students through high schools, community colleges, employers and community/business events.
• Serve as primary recruiting liaison with partner community colleges and other transfer institutions as assigned.
• Assist in the development and execution of enrollment management plans to include marketing, admissions, orientation and retention activities.
• Provide office and event coverage two early evenings per week and occasional weekend assignments as part of a flexible schedule.

Minimum Requirements:
• Bachelor degree required. Graduate degree preferred.
• A minimum of one year customer/student service and/or office experience required.
• Student service in higher education preferred.

Position: Part-time Testing Assistant

Reports to: Coordinator, Student Academic Success Services and Testing Center

FLSA: Non-exempt

Major Responsibilities:
• Administer a variety of paper-based and computer-based tests to a group or individual.
• Ensure optimal and secure testing conditions for all clientele.
• Uphold the security and confidentiality of tests and records, scoring procedures, and data collection.
• Schedule and monitor testing appointments for test takers.
• Monitor and update testing calendar.
• Track completed assessments as directed.
• Score tests and record results in database.
• Check in examinees, verifying identification.
• Serve as a proctor for a variety of testing activities.
• Present instructions verbally to test takers, following established procedures.

Position: Part-time Accountant (approximately 20 hours per week, flexible scheduling)

Reports to: Controller Director of Accounting

Major  Responsibilities:
• Perform monthly account analysis.
• Prepares internal/external analysis and reports including contribution margin, cost to raise a dollar and Form 990.
• Track and report on state, federal and private grants/contracts.
• Assist in budget preparation and review.

  Position: Part-time Video Intern (temporary)

Reports to: Director of Marketing

FLSA: Non-exempt

Major Responsibilities:
• Responsible for recording and editing videos and taking photographs for the marketing department which is responsible for a wide range of functions.
• Video production:
Assist in coordinating videotaping events, which will include: college events, student/alumni testimonials, staff and faculty informational videos, and ad hoc video post-production projects for the college.
Handle all pre- and post-production to complete videos, including approval process (internal College approval and waivers from those appearing in the film).
Post video content on College website and College YouTube channel.
• Photography:
Attend College events, often evening and weekend, to take photographs using department camera
Take headshots of College faculty
Make edits and enhancements to photographs as needed

Minimum Requirements:
• Pursuing a video production, photography, or related degree at an articulated community college (www.walshcollege.edu/Transfer)
• Experience with digital video recording, digital cameras, and production techniques
• Access to video production software for editing and post-production. Video camera and digital camera provided.
• Must be available to work up to 20 hours per week and cover occasional evening and weekend events.
• Intermediate knowledge of websites and YouTube as related to the video posting process.
• Video and photography samples will be requested during the interview process.
• Strong desire and ability to learn quickly and independently required.
