                Specific course needs include accounting information systems (QuickBooks, Peachtree, Great Plans, and MS Office) and communications for accounting.

Position:                      Chair, Accounting, Taxation & Business Law Department  

Reports to:                 Executive Vice President, Chief Academic Officer 
 

Major Responsibilities:

  • Lead accounting, taxation and business law disciplines, including oversight of degrees.

  • Teach courses, per contract.

  • Manage vice chair, full-time faculty, and several adjunct faculty members.  

  • Revise curricula and delivery methods to meet the needs of students and employers.  Evaluate and implement appropriate academic program review recommendations.

  • Create and administer policies related to curricula and admissions.

  • Recommend course schedule and assign faculty to courses.

  • Advise students on course selections and career paths. 

  • Collaborate with enrollment management function to implement recruitment and retention strategies. 

  • Maintain relationships with area community college accounting faculty.

  • Develop and maintain program advisory group.  Consider group recommendations for curricula revisions and/or marketing of the program.

  • Respond to appropriate media requests for interviews, comments or articles.

  • Provide student learning outcomes data as it relates to the program(s). 

  • Maintain appropriate professional association relationships.

  • Demonstrate scholarship contributions to the profession.

  • Participate in Board meetings; develop and deliver reports to management and the Board of Trustees and other groups, as requested.

  • Participate in the College’s planning and budgeting, as requested.

     

    Minimum Requirements:

  • Graduate and undergraduate degrees in related fields required.  One degree must be in accounting.

  • A minimum of a doctorate degree and accounting curricula development experience OR significant career in the accounting profession with at one professional accounting certification.

  • Minimum of two years accounting instruction experience at the collegiate level.

  • Ability to translate current trends and new regulations of the accounting profession to continually update the curricula.  

  • Ability to integrate accounting with other business disciplines.

  • Knowledge of accounting related careers and employer needs.

  • Working knowledge of technology used in the accounting profession.

  • Superior written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills required.

  • Collaborative, team-oriented individual required.

  • Ability to teach online courses preferred.

Position:        Full-time Faculty Member, Finance & Economics Department (faculty rank dependent on credentials)

Position:       Writer/Editor, Marketing Department

Reports to:   Assistant Vice President, Marketing 

FLSA:            Exempt 

Major Responsibilities:

 Conceptualize, write, edit, and produce brochures and other collateral materials, including the biannual Walsh College Journal.

  • Draft press releases and assist with media relations.
  • Manage project review workflow, editing and approval process.
  • Assist departments with writing and editing projects, as needed.
  • Create high-level communications for various constituents.
  • Write executive speeches: organize and research topics; draft speeches, presentations, and talking points that convey the College’s mission and strategic messages.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in English, journalism, or communications.  
  • A minimum of five years of professional writing experience required including experience with media relations.
  • Superior writing, editing, proofreading, and grammar skills required; AP Style knowledge preferred.
  • Ability to write persuasive communications required.
  • Experience in executive speechwriting preferred.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with track record of meeting deadlines required.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team oriented environment required. 
  • Intermediate Microsoft Word experience required; PowerPoint skills a plus.

 Position:  Marketing Manager

Reports to: Assistant Vice President, Marketing

FLSA:  Exempt

Major Responsibilities:
• Develop and execute marketing strategies and plans, including brand campaign and individual academic program marketing.

• Track marketing plans and budget.  Provide monthly activity reports.

• Help to ensure that all initiatives support the marketing strategy and adhere to brand standards.

• Closely monitor marketing return on investment.

• Work with various departments to support and drive all marketing communications development.

• Oversee social media and digital marketing efforts, working closely with agency partners to optimize spend and support enrollment activities.

• Manage event marketing and execution.

Position: Part-time Video Intern (temporary)

Reports to: Director of Marketing

FLSA: Non-exempt

Major Responsibilities:
• Responsible for recording and editing videos and taking photographs for the marketing department which is responsible for a wide range of functions.

• Video production:

Assist in coordinating videotaping events, which will include: college events, student/alumni testimonials, staff and faculty informational videos, and ad hoc video post-production projects for the college.

Handle all pre- and post-production to complete videos, including approval process (internal College approval and waivers from those appearing in the film).

Post video content on College website and College YouTube channel.
• Photography:

Attend College events, often evening and weekend, to take photographs using department camera

Take headshots of College faculty

Make edits and enhancements to photographs as needed

Minimum Requirements:
• Pursuing a video production, photography, or related degree at an articulated community college (www.walshcollege.edu/Transfer)

• Experience with digital video recording, digital cameras, and production techniques

• Access to video production software for editing and post-production. Video camera and digital camera provided.

• Must be available to work up to 20 hours per week and cover occasional evening and weekend events.

• Intermediate knowledge of websites and YouTube as related to the video posting process.

• Video and photography samples will be requested during the interview process.

• Provide support to marketing and PR department which is responsible for a wide range of functions.

• Candidate must be a Walsh College student pursuing a marketing major at the bachelor’s degree level or degreed alumni.

• Must be available to work 20 hours per week and cover occasional evening and weekend events (will schedule around courses).

• Organizational skills and ability to multi-task required.

• Intermediate knowledge of Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. (Work or academic samples will be requested during the interview process).
