                Specific course needs include accounting information systems (QuickBooks, Peachtree, Great Plans, and MS Office) and communications for accounting.

    Position: Part-time Testing Assistant – 22 hours/week

    Reports to: Coordinator, Student Outcomes Assessment and Testing Center

    FLSA: Non-exempt

    Major Responsibilities:
    • Administer a variety of tests (paper and electronic) to groups and individuals, including those with special needs.
    • Ensure optimal and secure testing conditions for all clientele.
    • Uphold the security and confidentiality of tests and records, scoring procedures, and data collection. Abide by all FERPA regulations.
    • Schedule and monitor testing appointments.
    • Closely monitor and update testing calendar.
    • Track completed assessments as directed.
    • Score tests and record results in database.
    • Check in examinees, verifying identification.
    • Serve as a proctor for a variety of testing activities.
    • Present instructions verbally to test takers, following established procedures.
    • Monitor test taker behavior and disqualify examination as needed; resolve or report test irregularities.
    • Answer inquiries regarding types of tests offered and hours of Testing Center operations.
    • Assist Coordinator, Student Outcomes Assessment and Testing Center, as needed.
    • Perform general office functions.

    Minimum Requirements:
    • High School Diploma or GED required.
    • One year of office, higher education, or the equivalent in experience and education required.
    • Accurate data entry and recordkeeping skills required.
    • Intermediate Word, Excel, and Internet skills required. Additional computer skills a plus.
    • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills required.
    • Good written and oral communication skills required.
    • Track record of good customer or student service strongly desired.
    • Ability to comprehend and follow detailed written instructions, then clearly present instructions.
    • Ability to interact with all organizational levels.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Prior test administration related experience a plus.
    • Must be available to work Monday through Thursday evenings, 3:30 p.m. – 9 p.m.
    • Must be able to provide coverage during daytime hours Monday through Saturday,
    8:30 a.m.-2 p.m. on occasion as needed.

     Position: Library Director

    Reports to: Executive Vice President, Chief Academic Officer

    Major Responsibilities:
    • Direct library services and programs including resource sharing, bibliographic instruction and reference services.
    • Develop and maintain collection to meet needs of instructional programs.
    • Oversee library technology and lead technology conversions/migrations.
    • Maintain and update content of the library web and portal pages.
    • Oversee, develop, and maintain LibGuides.
    • Create and update instructional materials on researching library resources.
    • Keep current with library databases, search features, and general reference sources.

    • MSLS or equivalent degree from an ALA accredited program.

    • Knowledge of current and emerging technologies used in library services, including Captivate or Camtasia required.
    • Supervisory experience and demonstrated capability to effectively lead library staff required.
    • Excellent interpersonal, written and presentation communication skills required.
    • Demonstrated ability to develop work with individuals at various organizational levels required.
    • Strong track record of high quality student service.
    • Creative problem solver with solid judgment skills.

    Major Responsibilities:
    • Provide reference services, online searching and individual instruction to patrons.
    • Assist in creating and maintaining library research guides (LibGuides).

    Position:        Instructional Designer (temporary, part-time up to 29 hours per week)

    Reports to:    Director, Online Learning

    Major Responsibilities:

    • Work collaboratively with faculty and online learning staff to develop online courses and supplemental online material according to best practices and Department of Education requirements.

    • Design effective instructional materials for adult learners.

    • Coordinate production of instructional materials from various sources.

    • Recommend technologies, practices, and policies to faculty that achieve instructional goals, address learner preferences, and engage learners.

    • Evaluate quality of existing online courses.

    • Effectively communicate expectations and online pedagogy to faculty assigned to course development.

    • Store documents according to procedure and produce documentation as required.

    • Explore, test and adopt new technology and methods for online courses.

     

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree required.  Master’s degree preferred. 

    • Minimum of one year instructional design experience, including application of contemporary instructional design theories.

    • Basic knowledge of streaming audio and video, compression methods, file types and formats required.

    • Familiarity with graphic design elements appropriate for online instruction.

    • Strong computer skills, especially in using Word, PowerPoint, HTML and Excel required.

    • Ability to effectively present technical materials to non-technical audiences.

     ­Position:     Part-time Graphic Designer Intern (temporary position, 10 hours/week, flexible schedule)

    Responsibilities:

    • Assist with day-to-day tasks, including creating and designing marketing collateral, print ads, flyers, brochures, posters, infographics, invites, direct mail pieces, branded promotional items, imagery and materials for the website, emails, social media graphics, and other marketing materials, as needed.

    • Work closely with the graphic designer to translate the Marketing Department messaging concepts into marketing materials.

    • Collaborate with the marketing department to support campaigns with design solutions and ensure brand compliance.

     Position: Part-time Video Intern (temporary)

    Reports to: Director of Marketing

    FLSA: Non-exempt

    Major Responsibilities:

    • Responsible for recording and editing videos and taking photographs for the marketing department which is responsible for a wide range of functions.

    • Video production:

      Assist in coordinating videotaping events, which will include: college events, student/alumni testimonials, staff and faculty informational videos, and ad hoc video post-production projects for the college.

      Handle all pre- and post-production to complete videos, including approval process (internal College approval and waivers from those appearing in the film).

      Post video content on College website and College YouTube channel.
    • Photography:

      Attend College events, often evening and weekend, to take photographs using department camera
      Take headshots of College faculty
      Make edits and enhancements to photographs as needed

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Pursuing a video production, photography, or related degree at an articulated community college (www.walshcollege.edu/Transfer)
    • Experience with digital video recording, digital cameras, and production techniques
    • Access to video production software for editing and post-production. Video camera and digital camera provided.
    • Must be available to work up to 20 hours per week and cover occasional evening and weekend events.
    • Intermediate knowledge of websites and YouTube as related to the video posting process.
    • Video and photography samples will be requested during the interview process.

    Position: Part-time Marketing & PR Intern (temporary)

    Reports to: Marketing Manager

    Major Responsibilities:

    • Provide support to marketing and PR department which is responsible for a wide range of functions.

    • Assist in coordinating events and advertising campaigns, college events calendar, vendor relations, webinars, marketing research, marketing communications, website updates, copywriting/proofreading, and social media.

    • Candidate must be a Walsh College student pursuing a marketing major at the bachelor’s degree level or degreed alumni.

    • Must be available to work 20 hours per week and cover occasional evening and weekend events (will schedule around courses).

    • Strong written and proofreading communication skills required.

    • Intermediate knowledge of Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. (Work or academic samples will be requested during the interview process).
