Position: Career Services Advisor

Reports to: Director, Career Services

FLSA: Exempt

Major Responsibilities:
• Provide career advising services to students/alumni to include resume writing, cover letters, interviewing, job search techniques, networking, transitional employment, and career development.
• Stay current of and communicate labor market and job search strategy trends.
• Research and develop opportunities and resources for students/alumni.
• Utilize social media to connect with students, alumni, and employers.
• Administer and interpret career assessments (as qualified).
• Create, facilitate, and assess career-related programs reflective of labor market and student/alumni needs.
• Market services to employers, to include developing and maintaining employer relationships, employer site visits, networking events, phone contact, and follow-up activities.
• Market services to students/alumni through attending campus events and conducting classroom presentations.
• Assist with and promote special events and career fairs.
• Collaborate with faculty, student services, student life, and alumni functions.
• Utilize career services database.
• Match student/graduate resumes with position openings.

Minimum requirements:

• Bachelor degree required. Advanced degree a plus.
• Minimum of two years’ experience in professional career advising or employee recruitment of professionals.

• Knowledge of professional occupations in the business field and business trends required.
• Professional presence and approachable demeanor to interface with students and employers required.
• Superior writing, grammatical, editing, and proof-reading skills required.

Position: Part Time Representative (requires working two evenings until 7:00 p.m.; approximately 25 hours/week)

Reports To: Office Manager, Admissions and Academic Advising

Major Responsibilities:
• Provide coverage as front desk receptionist, answer phones, and schedule student appointments.
• Perform data entry of prospect, applicant and student information.
• Contact students via telephone regarding application information, registration, and program information.
• Provide students with informational materials on academic programs and student services.
• Provide clerical support as needed and generate student correspondence using word processing.
• Assist with special events such as open houses, information sessions and orientations.

PositionAnnual Giving Officer
 
Reports to: Assistant Director, Annual Giving & Stewardship

FLSA: Exempt

Major Responsibilities:  

  • Lead annual giving program.
  • Develop and implement annual giving strategies, including direct mail, phonathon, President’s Club and leadership annual gifts.
  • Assist in identifying and soliciting donors for leadership level annual fund gifts
  • Establish, monitor and meet goals. Track performance against benchmarks and previous campaigns to include making     adjustments  through analysis of results.
  • Ensure timely and appropriate acknowledgements and recordkeeping of annual fund gifts.
  • Develop and complete communications plan for annual giving, including use of social media.
  • Manage scholarship appreciation program.
  • Manage annual giving recognition program.
  • Attend various internal events and represent the College at external events.
  • Serve as department back-up on Colleague Advancement.
  • Support the President’s Office with acknowledgement letters.

  Minimum Requirements:

Position: Instructional Designer (Temporary – minimum of 25 hours/week)

Reports to: Director, Online Learning

Major Responsibilities:
• Work collaboratively with faculty and online learning staff in the preparation of online courses and supplemental materials.
• Conduct learning needs analysis to ensure appropriateness of online instructional materials.
• Design effective instructional materials for adult learners.
• Coordinate production of instructional materials from various sources.

Minimum Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree required.  Master’s degree in related field of study strongly preferred.
• Experience in instructional design or formal training required. 
• Familiarity with graphic design elements appropriate for online instruction.

Position: Graphic Designer

• Provide graphic design, layout, and production services that meet internal constituent needs and ensure brand compliance. Projects include publications, direct marketing pieces, flyers,

Position: Part-time Veteran Services Intern (temporary)
at Walsh College Troy Campus

Reports to: Veteran Services Coordinator

Major Responsibilities:  
• Assistant in providing service to the veteran and military population on campus, working closely with the
Walsh College Veteran Services Team.
• Understand basic college departments and procedures in order to direct students using military education benefits to the correct dept/person for assistance.
• Update and maintain a contact list of local military resources as a reference for our veteran students and their families (e.g. bases, military installations, VFW, County Veteran Offices, etc.)
• Create, update and audit physical and electronic files for those using military education benefits.
• Answer basic GI Bill related correspondence through email and phone; assist students with basic GI Bill questions.
• Process veteran education benefit paperwork including assisting with GI Bill certifications.
• Assist with Veteran Room planning and weekly coverage.
• Review and recommend changes to veteran website.
• Perform additional veteran related activities as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:
 • A student pursuing one of these options:
a. A full-time program of education of training under chapters 31 and 34 or title 38 United States Code.
b. A program of education or training at the ¾ time rate or higher under chapter 30, 31, 32 or 35 of title 38, U.S.C., or chapter [1606] of title 10, U.S.C. The ¾ or higher training rate must be verifiable at the time the student signs the work-study agreement.

Major  Responsibilities:
• Perform monthly account analysis.
• Prepares internal/external analysis and reports including contribution margin, cost to raise a dollar and Form 990.
• Track and report on state, federal and private grants/contracts.
• Assist in budget preparation and review.
• Prepare month and year end journal entries.

Position: Part-time Video Intern (temporary)

Reports to: Director of Marketing

FLSA: Non-exempt

Major Responsibilities:
• Responsible for recording and editing videos and taking photographs for the marketing department which is responsible for a wide range of functions.
• Video production:
Assist in coordinating videotaping events, which will include: college events, student/alumni testimonials, staff and faculty informational videos, and ad hoc video post-production projects for the college.
Handle all pre- and post-production to complete videos, including approval process (internal College approval and waivers from those appearing in the film).
Post video content on College website and College YouTube channel.
• Photography:
Attend College events, often evening and weekend, to take photographs using department camera
Take headshots of College faculty
Make edits and enhancements to photographs as needed

Minimum Requirements:
• Pursuing a video production, photography, or related degree at an articulated community college (www.walshcollege.edu/Transfer)
• Experience with digital video recording, digital cameras, and production techniques
• Access to video production software for editing and post-production. Video camera and digital camera provided.
