Walsh College

Giving Societies

Effective August 1, 2016.

The President's Club recognizes unrestricted gifts of $1,000 or more made to the Impact Fund.

The Chairman's Club recognizes restricted gifts of $1,000 or more directed to a scholarship or program.

The 1922 Society recognizes donors who make gifts totaling $1,922, restricted or unrestricted.

Please note: We will continue to recognize on a fiscal year basis, Sept. 1st through Aug. 31st. Special event ticket purchases will not count toward fulfilling membership requirements due to the amount of goods and services received. Matching gifts will count for inclusion in recognition societies.

The Impact Fund.

For years we have asked you to support our “annual fund” through an annual gift.  To better describe the impact of your annual gift, we are renaming the annual giving program the Impact Fund because annual gifts have an impact on the quality, strength and reputation of the College.

Most gifts that are made to the College through direct mail, phonathon, The Journal envelope, etc. are unrestricted, meaning they are not designated to a specific scholarship or program. These gifts are used for important technology updates, general scholarships and building improvements.  The College relies upon these gifts as they provide funds to meet unexpected opportunities.

As an example, unrestricted annual gifts helped the College build the Finance Lab on the Troy Campus.

Our Giving Societies.

Join us in shaping our shared economic future.

Every donor has the opportunity to make a significant impact on the future of this great institution. A gift at the $1,000-plus level can create meaningful change. For instance, the average scholarship award is $1,000 - $1,500 a semester, so your gift can truly make a difference in the life of a student.

Giving societies at Walsh College are a network of alumni, friends, and employees that support Walsh College with an annual gift of $1,000 or more. The Walsh College President’s Club  and Chairman's Club includes individuals who invest in the belief that a business education should be rigorous, responsive and hands-on – the kind of business education at Walsh College. It is this kind of business education that produces the entrepreneurs and business professionals our region needs now. Benefits of giving society memberships are below.

President's and Chairman's Club membership includes:

  • Recognition in the annual donor Honor Roll published each fall.
  • Invitation to President’s Appreciation Reception held each spring celebrating donors, students and scholars.
  • Invitations to college special events, including receptions and special speaker series.
  • Signed certificate of membership from Walsh College President, Stephanie Bergeron.

1922 Society membership includes:

  • VIP Breakfast with members and Walsh College President, Stephanie Bergeron.
  • Recognition in the annual donor Honor Roll published each fall.
  • Invitation to President’s Appreciation Reception held each spring celebrating donors, students and scholars.
  • Invitations to college special events, including receptions and speaker series.
  • Signed certificate of membership from Walsh College President, Stephanie Bergeron.

Behind every great institution is great philanthropy.

Walsh College is the only all-business college in Metro Detroit. Almost 1,000 students earn a degree from Walsh each year. More than 81% of our graduates stay in Michigan, earn their living, and raise their families here.
Walsh is a private, non-profit, educational institution. Your support is critical and goes farther and deeper than you might expect.

Every Gift Counts.

President's Club and Chairman's Club gifts help the College award nearly $500,000 in scholarships each year. The need for scholarships is greater than ever this year as students struggle to continue their education. Your gift also helps provide technology, computer software, library acquisitions, and career planning for students and all alumni.

Your tax-deductible annual investment of $1,000 or more helps Walsh College deliver a business education that integrates theory and application, prepares graduates for satisfying careers, and shapes them into our regions’ entrepreneurs and business leaders – proficient, talented and prepared to become the drivers of our region’s economy.

Make your investment in our shared economic future today; become a member of the Walsh College President’s Club.
