The Testing Center provides a professional and secure environment for test administration for Walsh students and members of the community. We adhere to nationally recognized standards and guidelines and promote honesty, integrity, and fairness in all procedures.

The Testing Center is at the Troy location on the south side,
across from the cafe.

The Walsh Testing Center subscribes to the National College Testing Association (NCTA) Professional Standards and Guidelines and participates in the Consortium of College Testing Centers (CCTC).  Student education records are protected under the Family Educational Rights Privacy Act of 1974 (FERPA). Test scores are student education records; therefore, cannot be released to a third party without written authorization from the student.

Make-up Testing for Students

To schedule a make-up exam at a specific Walsh location, students must:

  1. Make arrangements through their instructors
  2.  Schedule an appointment directly with that location
  3. Complete all tests within the allocated examination time and 10 minutes before the testing location closes

Make-up Testing for Instructors

Instructors teaching in any modality may request proctoring services for individual students who need to make up an examination through the Troy Testing Center or other testing location. Whole class testing cannot be accommodated by the Testing Center.

Students must make arrangements through their instructor to take a make-up exam at any testing location, and must schedule their own appointment. Instructors must submit a completed Test Procedures and Routing form and all testing materials to the testing location prior to the day of the student’s appointment.

Placement and Assessment Testing

Students who need to complete placement exams or other assessments may do so at the various Walsh locations. Exams and assessments may not be offered at every location. Please contact a selected location directly to determine whether a specific exam or assessment is offered there.

Testing Guidelines for Students

The following rules apply to all students who utilize the Troy Testing Center for test taking:

  • All students must schedule an appointment.
  • Students must present valid photo identification. Tests will not be administered without proper identification. Acceptable forms of identification include: Government issued photo ID such as a driver’s license, state ID or current passport Walsh student or staff photo ID Students must sign the Testing Center Policies and Procedures form.
  • Only items designated by the instructor or Coordinator of the Testing Center will be permitted in the testing area.
  • All personal items (including cell phones, electronic devices and smart watches) not required for testing must be stored in the lockers or baskets provided.
  • All tests must be completed within the allocated examination time and 10 minutes before the Testing Center closes.
