Accreditation Matters

Walsh is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) www.hlcommission.org, and has received specialized accreditation for select business degree programs by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs  (ACBSP) www.acbsp.org.

ACBSP accreditation focuses on the quality of instruction and the development of practical skills that employers want. Walsh’s accreditation aligns with our mission to integrate theory and application to prepare graduates for successful careers.

In 2020, Walsh earned a full 10-year reaffirmation of accreditation from The Higher Learning Commission (HLC) with no requirement for interim monitoring or reporting.

Walsh has been granted the legal authority to operate as a private, not-for-profit institution by the State of Michigan, Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity to grant bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees and certificate programs.

RETENTION RATE BY PROGRAM

New students who started in any term within the fiscal year and re-enrolled anytime within the four following terms from first term, reported in year they started. For instance, a student started in Fall 2018 and re-enrolled in 19/WI, 19/SP, 19/SU or 19/FA would be considered ‘retained’ and would be reported in fiscal year 2019.

Professional Licensure Disclosure

The state professional licensure boards in each state are responsible for establishing the requirements for licensure for their state.  Students contemplating the pursuit of the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) credential should contact the relevant Board in the U.S. state/territory from where they intend to obtain their license for the most up-to-date information. The Bachelor of Accountancy and Master of Science in Accountancy at Walsh College have been designed to help students meet the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) exam and licensure requirements in the State of Michigan. Please be advised that State Board of Accountancy regulations and policies can change without notice and Walsh College cannot and does not make any representation, warranty, or guarantee that the successful completion of these programs will permit a student to sit for the exam and/or obtain the CPA license. No statement made at any time by any member of the Walsh faculty or any other representative of Walsh shall be deemed to be such a representation, warranty, or guarantee.

National Council of State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements

Walsh is a member of the National Council of State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements (NC-SARA) https://nc-sara.org and participates in the State Authorization Reciprocity Agreement (SARA).  SARA is “an agreement among member states that establishes comparable national standards for interstate offerings of postsecondary distance education courses and programs”.
