Erin Rawlings teaches Social Media Strategy for Business at Walsh College. She is the creator and editor at "Mommy on the Spot (mommyonthespot.blogspot.com)" and "Erin Janda Rawlings (erinjandarawlings.com)." Rawlings is a freelance writer who contributes to The Mother Company. She has also contributed to The Detroit News MichMoms blog and the Macomb Patch. She is a freelance social media manager/field marketing with Tweet Team™ at Hay There Social Media (haytheresocialmedia.com). She has also been on the Live in the D's mom panel to discuss controversial parenting issues. She has also presented at the Rochester Writers' Conference about the use of images in social media to create brand awareness.
Rawlings is a former English teacher (8th and 9th grade), exploratory language, and Spanish I at Malow Junior High School in Utica Community Schools District. She also served two years as English Department Head and as co-leader of the Writing Goal Committee for NCA (North Central Accreditation), which developed a strategy for teaching writing across the curriculum. She received her bachelor's degree in secondary education with an English major and a Spanish minor from Western Michigan University, and her master's in the art of teaching from Marygrove College.
