Thursday, March 23, 2017 - Walsh College Names Dave Schippers to Full-Time IT and Cybersecurity Faculty

Walsh College has appointed Dave Schippers to its full-time academic faculty as adjunct instructor in the IT and Cybersecurity department.

Schippers has 20 years of industry experience in information technology and project management and has worked on large-core system design, quality assurance testing and system implementation with a large Midwest retailer. For the last 13 years, Schippers has acted as the director of a technology group and information security leader supporting 25 sites, three organizations and thousands of users. He also consults as a professional investigator and cybersecurity professional, offering digital investigation and information security services.

Dave SchippersHis leadership includes implementing over $8 million in technology bonds, acquiring federal USF funding, designing and implementing physical and video security systems and engineering new security alert system components. His research and investigation experience includes digital image forensics with a focus on GPS data and GPS accuracy, which prompted a webinar for a global forensics company and a speaking engagement for their global forensics conference.

“In the many years of interactions on technology initiatives, I have had the privilege of working with extremely dedicated and talented experts who were committed to excellence and lifelong learning,” said Schippers. “It is my hope to bring this perspective and vision to the students.”

Schippers has earned his CISSP and EnCe and is currently earning his DSc in Cybersecurity from Capital Technology University. Schippers received his undergraduate degree in Information Security and Intelligence with a concentration in digital forensics and his MS in Information Systems Management from Ferris State University. He was an adjunct instructor in the FSU Information Security and Intelligence program teaching forensics, advanced forensics and geographic information system courses.

Walsh College offers four highly regarded undergraduate and graduate programs in Information Technology: Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT), Master of Science in Information Technology (MSIT), Master of Science in Information Technology Leadership (MSITL), and a dual MBA/MSITL.

Walsh also offers a Master of Science in Information Technology with a concentration in cybersecurity (MSIT-CS) and a Cybersecurity Certificate.
