Letter from WCAA President 2012

At 90, Walsh College is stronger than ever...a statement not many people or organizations can assert to in today’s environment.  As current President of the Walsh College Alumni Association, I want to wish the College a very happy 90th birthday. 

On behalf of WCAA Board of Directors, I would like to thank all who have contributed in many ways to make the FY 2011-2012 a very successful year.  Many people have volunteered their time, ideas & money to support the mission of the Walsh College Alumni Association. Additionally, many outside stakeholders interested in the College’s success have provided financial support to our organization.  On behalf of the entire Alumni, we thank you for your continued support. 

As we approach the mid-point of the 2012, the WCAA we would like to reflect on what has been done & point to future opportunities. 

Highlights of FY 2011-2012  

WCAA Platinum Sponsor: Clayton McKervey PC

The WCAA is proud to announce our first annual sponsor- accounting specialists Clayton McKervey PC.  Joel Zielke, Board Member of WCAA, secured the partnership/donation. A long-time supporter of Walsh College, the Clayton McKervey PC was awarded the WCAA’s Platinum Sponsor with their generous donation to the WCAA.  The sponsorship of Clayton McKervey’s has been very important to the WCAA in meeting its goals of philanthropic & educational endeavors.

 Casino Night

On March 31, 2012, the WCAA hosted its 3rd annual Casino Night.  The event serves as a social event to foster networking amongst alumni & stakeholders.  The WCAA Casino Night is also one of two fund-raisers for the WCAA to reach its goals & fund operations. 

Hosted at Red Run Golf Club in Royal Oak, over 150 people joined us for a night of food, fun and gaming.  The event has grown each year and is one of the most entertaining night’s of the WCAA each year.  Thank you to all who made the event such a success and we look forward to seeing you again!

I wish to express my extreme gratitude to all who have made my tenure as President such a rewarding experience.  I want to especially thank all on the current Board of Directors who have given so much of their time to make the WCAA a success.  Thank you very much for all you have done & accomplished; I am proud to have served next to you.

Brian Pilarski, M.S.M.  

Brian Pilarski completed his Bachelors of Science in Business Administration at Central Michigan University and Masters of Science in Management from Walsh College. He has served four years on the Broad of Directors for the Walsh College Alumni Association and is completing his 2nd term as President of the Board. 

Brian ’s professional role is as a commercial insurance broker with Brown & Brown Insurance, where he helps his clients with commercial insurance placement and risk management solutions.  His specialty at Brown & Brown lies in commercial general liability, commercial property, fidelity, workers compensations, errors & omissions, business auto and excess liability.  Brian Pilarski is a ‘Top Gun’ finalist with Brown & Brown and a ‘Tangle B’ producer; a distinction only 100 brokers out of 1500 receive.  In addition to local responsibilities, he also manages clients for Brown & Brown Ohio, located in Toledo.

Congratulations Brian on a successful year as President and thank you for the many years of hard work you shared with all of us WCAA Alumni, while serving on the Board of Directors. You did a great job!
