Class of 2013
David M. David was promoted to district lead merchandise manager at GFS. He began as a sales associate 3-1/2 years ago and this will be his third promotion. David earned his Bachelor of Business Administration from Walsh College in 2013.
Anthony Ferruzzi has joined Nissan Technical Center North America as the parts coordinator. Anthony earned his Bachelor of Business Administration from Walsh College in 2011 and his Master of Business Administration in 2013.
Class of 2011
Bryan Kieler has joined IFF CDFI as senior loan officer in their Detroit office. As senior loan officer he will offer capital solutions to non-profits that help advance under-served communities. Bryan earned his Master of Science in Strategic Leadership from Walsh College in 2011.
Class of 2010
Lisa J. Mattern has been a volunteer for the YMCA Kids Burn Camp since 2010. Her dedication stems from burn injuries she sustained as a child. She has been asked to be a panelist at the World Burn Congress in Anaheim, Calif., in October. She is the owner of DanLi Cruise Planners/American Express, an award- winning agency, which has achieved top- producer status with all major cruise lines. Lisa earned her Bachelor of Business Administration in 2006 and her Master of Business Administration from Walsh College in 2010.
Class of 2009
Michael Wion joined Oracle as director of business development, Security Solutions. He earned his Master of Science in Information Assurance from Walsh College in 2009.
Class of 2008
Kristoffer Tobbe has been reappointed to the Michigan Board of Nursing for a four- year term by Governor Rick Snyder. He has also been chosen to be the campaign manager for Rich Perlberg for State Representative Michigan District 42, covering the city of Brighton and the townships of Brighton, Genoa, Green Oak, Hamburg, and Putnam. Along with these new appointed duties, Kristoffer continues his roles of City of Brighton councilman and as computer information systems for Huron-Clinton Metroparks. Kristoffer earned his Master of Science in Management from Walsh College in 2008.

Sally A. Rouse (Kaufman) and Kevin M. Rouse opened Tunnel of Suds, Inc. car wash and detailing center at 18282 E. 13 Mile Road, Roseville, Mich. Sally earned her Bachelor of Business Administration in 2000 and her Master of Science in Management from Walsh College in 2004.

Jason Van Duyn was named to the Investment News magazine’s “40 Under 40” list for his dedication and entrepreneurial spirit. He was selected from close to 1,200 nominations and is the only winner from Michigan. Jason is president of AQuest Wealth Strategies, a LPL Financial-affiliated firm managing $80 million. He earned his Bachelor of Business Administration from Walsh College in 2000.
Class of 1968
Don Clayton, CPA, was awarded the first Association for Corporate Growth Detroit Chapter Lifetime Achievement award. Don was presented the award for his extraordinary leadership, his role in growing and shaping the chapter through sustained active and meaningful participation, and for being an outstanding example in the professional community. The Association for Corporate Growth is a global organization with 174,500 members and 58 chapters. Don is chairman of Clayton & McKervey and serves on the Walsh College Board of Trustees. He is a class of ‘68 Walsh Institute alumnus.
Obituary
Class of 1974
Linn F. Wellet, 72, of Coldwater, died on Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at Select Specialty Hospital in Battle Creek. He served in the
U.S. Army during the Vietnam era and married Phyllis E. Gallo in 1967. Linn worked in human resources for many years, serving as the director of the HR department at the
Community Health Center for 12 years, then for
Oaklawn Hospital in Marshall. He worked for a short time at
Ohio Art in Bryan, Ohio, and spent the last several years of his career working for the
State of Michigan in the Jackson State Prison Personnel Department, retiring in 1994. Linn earned his Bachelor of Business Administration from Walsh College in 1974.
