  • Ann Saurbier, D.M., is a professor and chair of the Management Department. Since joining Walsh College in 1997, Dr. Saurbier has taught a wide variety of management courses at the graduate and undergraduate levels in the on-ground, online and blended learning formats. In addition, she has created and delivered training and development courses to local organizations through the Walsh Institute, a division of Walsh College.

    Dr. Saurbier earned her Doctor of Management in Executive Leadership from Walsh College in 2013. She also holds a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, and a Master of Science in Management from Walsh College.

    In a continuation of her doctoral research, Dr. Saurbier has authored several articles on the application of evidence-based management and leadership theory to the American higher education accreditation process. In addition, she has presented her work on improving Walsh College’s student learning outcomes through iterative use of assessment data to the Accreditation Council for Business School Programs (ACBSP). Dr. Saurbier also serves as an ACBSP peer reviewer.

    Before joining Walsh College, Dr. Saurbier was employed with Wayne State University (1992-1998) in the Office of University Budget, ultimately serving as the budget development manager. She also was employed with the law firm of Dickenson, Wright, Moon, VanDusen & Freeman, where she served as an accounting analyst (1987-1990) and later as the supervisor for information systems (1990-1992). Prior to that, she was a cost accountant and budget analyst at both Holley Automotive and Vixen Motor Company.

    Dr. Saurbier is a current member of the Academy of Management, the American Society for Quality, and the Alliance for Excellence in Online Education.
