MBA Experience

The Walsh Experience

This morning, I was working on a project and about to log onto the Walsh website.  I stopped dead in my tracks when I came across these words on the home page… “MBA Experience.”  It just took me back to 2004, when I started my Master’s degree journey in the MSM program.  Made me quickly reflect about my own “Walsh experience.”

Few things of what you can expect:

1.  Excellent service.
Walsh prides itself on personal and friendly customer service.  It is the one thing that I repeatedly hear from students and alumni.

2.  Small class size.
There are several benefits to having a small classroom size.  Most classes hover right around 25-30 students.  With small groups there are better discussions, better collaboration, and better learning opportunities without the feeling of just being a ‘number.’

3.  Rigor.
Expect no free lunches.  You will be challenged in the classroom.  There will be a variety of learning experiences.  Professors encourage classroom discussions, group projects, papers, case studies, quizzes, tests, etc.  It is what makes Walsh and brings me to my next item on the list…

4.  Recognition.
The metro Detroit community knows the value of having a Walsh degree.  I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been out in the community doing volunteer work or at networking events and I hear, "I’ve went to Walsh.  I know someone who went there.  Do you know “X” person that works there?"

Sure, we are a relatively small school, but the name recognition is definitely there.  This is only the tip of the iceberg.  There are so many other positive aspects about Walsh.  I'm sure many Walsh students and alumni would feel the same feelings.  Take a quick look at this video of one of our alums that notes the MBA program is "Challenging yet rewarding..."

The MBA Experience:  March 14 @ Novi

If you, a family member, or friend are considering starting an MBA program, mark your calendar for the MBA Experience on Tuesday, March 14, at 6 p.m.  This event will be held at the Novi campus and it will help you figure out what is special about the Walsh MBA.

One of our Admissions & Academic Advisors, Scott Wyckoff, will provide an insightful and engaging presentation to explain the benefits of the program.  The huge plus for you is that he has also been in your shoes as a student, because he’s a two-time Walsh alum.

If you go to this event, trust me, you won’t be bored.  Scott is super personable and tries to make things a learning experience for everyone.  He has even done improv comedy.  A business man first but has a good imagination too!  If you are interested in attending, please register online.
