Policies

The following policies are for all Walsh students and alumni that participate in on-campus interviews with company representatives. Future participation and Career Services assistance may be discontinued for failure to comply with these policies:

  • Dress appropriately in business attire for on-campus interviews.
  • Arrive 15 minutes prior to your scheduled interview time. If an emergency is preventing you from being on time, contact Career Services immediately.
  • Give a two-business day notice with a valid reason if you need to cancel an on-campus interview.
  • Do not sign up for on-campus interviews after accepting another company’s employment offer in good faith.
  • Do not accept a second interview after formally accepting another company’s employment offer in good faith.
  • You must not misrepresent or falsify your credentials or status to Career Services and/or employers.
  • Show courtesy to visiting company representatives.
  • Be courteous, cooperate, and maintain contact with Career Services staff.

It is recommended that students make an appointment with Career Services to get prepared for the OCR process. You can schedule more than one appointment, and appointments range from resume preparation to mock interviews, to confidence building and presentation skills.  We will also review with you what to expect as you progress through the process and advise you on what employers look for in successful candidates.

Meet & Greet Visits

An employer Meet and Greet is when a company comes to campus and sets up a table in the Barry Center Lobby to talk with students. This interaction is less formal than a career fair, and students should wear casual/business casual dress for these meetings.  No suits are required.  Employers share information about their organization, their recruiting process, and employment opportunities.  Many times the employer hosting the Meet & Greet already has a job posted in WalshCareerLink.com.  Students should be prepared to provide a current copy of their resume and deliver their 60-second sell to the employer representative.
