  • Chelsea M. Rebeck is a CPA and attorney licensed in Michigan. Ms. Rebeck also holds a Master of Law in Taxation and is a Certified Fraud Examiner. Her undergraduate degree is in Accounting. She has a law practice in Southfield, Michigan that focuses on tax law, tax controversy, tax related litigation, and advising businesses and individuals in a variety of areas related to taxes, finances, and business issues. Ms. Rebeck also handles civil litigation and works pro-bono on family law cases to assist low-income mothers with custody issues.

     Ms. Rebeck is admitted to practice in the United States Supreme Court, United States Tax Court, United States Court of Federal Claims, United States District Courts in Maryland, New York, and  the Eastern District of Michigan as well as being admitted pro hac vice in the Southern District of Ohio. Ms. Rebeck worked as an accountant for over 12 years, including 6 years of governmental audit. Ms. Rebeck spent over three years as an auditor for the United States Department of Defense. Her audit duties included examinations to detect fraud, waste, and errors in financial statements. Her work as an accountant included preparing financial statements for businesses and the related tax returns.

    Ms. Rebeck’s legal experience has included numerous representations of taxpayers before the IRS in civil penalty cases, audits, and tax settlements. She has extensive experience in the IRS Appeals process, statutes, and procedural requirements, as well as U.S. Tax Court litigation.

    Ms. Rebeck is the only non-elected member of the State Bar of Michigan Audit Committee and Finance Committee as well as being a member of the Diversity and Inclusion Committee. Her duties include reviewing and approving various audit reports and financial data for submission to the State Bar of Michigan Board of Commissioners. As an elected member of the State Bar of Michigan Representative Assembly, Ms. Rebeck works with other lawyers across the state to review and update Michigan Court Rules. Ms. Rebeck is a member of the America Association of Attorney-CPAs, American Bar Association Tax Litigation Section, State Bar of Michigan Taxation Section, Association of Certified Fraud Examiners Advisory Board, and was recognized by Super Lawyers as a Rising Star in 2016 and 2017 based on peer nominations and review of her legal experience and client results. She is also a member of the Oakland County Bar Association’s Tax Committee along with being it’s Professional Development Chair.
