Walsh Offers CMA Prep Courses

The Certified Management Accountant (CMA®) is designed to assist accounting students in preparing for the CMA exam. The CMA designation is granted by the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA) and signifies a mastery of principles and practice for corporate accountants and corporate finance professionals.

The study programs are offered in two eight week parts. Candidates may sit for either exam part first. Walsh Exam Prep Part One is offered in the fall and covers Financial Reporting, Planning, Performance, and Control. Part Two is offered in the winter and covers Financial Decision Making.

CMA exam information can be found on the IMA homepage.  The exam is administered through ICMA, not Walsh, therefore exam fees are not included in Walsh course tuition.

Walsh is one of five schools in Michigan to receive an IMA endorsement for its CMA path in the Bachelor of Accountancy (BAC) program

Walsh's Master of Science in Accountancy (MAC) program is ranked No. 8 in the nation by TaxTalent (2018 Top in Tax Educational Survey according to tax employers). The Master of Science in Accountancy for Accounting Graduates program has also added a Data Analytics concentration to go along with Finance and Taxation concentrations.

Walsh offers three different types of certification prep courses. In addition to CMA, there are prep courses in Certified Treasury Professional (CTP®) and Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM-CP® or SHRM-SCP®).
