Walsh Appoints Suzanne Siegle Provost and Executive VP

Walsh President and CEO Michael Levens, Ph.D., has announced the appointment of Suzanne M. Siegle, Ed.D., J.D., as provost and executive vice president effective Sept. 14, 2020. As provost, Siegle will oversee faculty, academic administration and support services, online and remote learning, library services and institutional research.

“Dr. Siegle is a dynamic leader who brings extensive experience and knowledge in education, law and business, with a pulse on the needs of students,” said Levens. “Her creative approach and experience will be instrumental in guiding our academic programs and services in an ever-changing higher education environment, ensuring Walsh continues to meet the needs of students and business partners.“

Siegle joins Walsh from Concordia University, Ann Arbor where she most recently served as the assistant vice president for legal affairs and operations, campus dean for the Haab School of Business and professor of business and leadership.

Siegle’s academic and professional experience combine business, law and higher education, specifically focusing on the value and importance of a business education in today’s world. While at Concordia, she launched and grew both its undergraduate and graduate entrepreneurship programs and founded CULaunch!, an annual pitch event for aspiring entrepreneurs to compete for startup seed money. Siegle also oversaw the growth and development of a one-year master of science in leadership and an advanced standing professional MBA program.

A licensed attorney, Siegle has experience in business law, real estate, technology transfer, intellectual property, higher education law, risk management, Title IX compliance and corporate insurance.

Siegle’s research and scholarship encompass locus of control and leadership effectiveness, positive organizational psychology and the entrepreneurial mindset. She is the founder of the research firm LOCUS Mindset and regularly presents her research at the Michigan Academy of Science, Arts and Letters and the Michigan Ross School of Business Center for Positive Organizations, where she is a member of the community of scholars.

Siegle holds a doctorate in higher education leadership and management from Regent University, where her dissertation focused on alternative and innovative operating models for higher education in the 21st century. She earned her juris doctor from Ave Maria School of Law, an MBA from Western Governor’s University and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan.
