  • Roger P. Bober, Ph.D. serves as Clinical Faculty in the Management Department at Walsh College, He teaches graduate and undergraduate courses in management and serves on student dissertation committees.

    Before joining Walsh College in 2001, Dr. Bober was employed at Dow Chemical Company and Dow Corning Corporation in Midland, Michigan in the areas of production and transportation/logistics, respectively. Subsequent to a career in the private sector, Dr. Bober joined the public sector in Higher Education where he served as a business faculty member, department head for business and computer science, dean, associate provost/vice-president, and chief academic officer.

    Dr. Bober’s interests are in systems thinking, leadership, organizational operations, and innovation and change. His dissertation titled “The Attitudes and Behaviors of Community College Faculty Toward an Instructional Subsystem” focused on organizational behavior and change in innovative organizations. As an experienced change agent, Dr. Bober has transformed public organizations from technical to community colleges and from community colleges to baccalaureate degree-granting institutions. He has also led the creation and successful implementation of online colleges in three states, which transformed traditional organizations into a more adaptive culture.

    Dr. Bober’s educational background includes an associate of science degree in Mathematics from Delta College in University Center, Michigan; a BBA and MA in Business from Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, Michigan; and a Ph.D. in Educational Administration from The University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

    He is a certified online facilitator and teaches online for community colleges and senior colleges and universities. Dr. Bober has taught over 18 years for private universities as an adjunct professor in Marketing Research, Corporate Strategic Planning, Marketing Management, Quantitative Statistics, Action Research, Operations Management, International Business, Organizational Behavior, and Higher Education Administration.

    He serves on the Board of Directors of the Alliance for Excellence in Online Education and is currently a member of the Production and Operations Management Society, and the World Future Society.  Dr. Bober has made numerous presentations related to learning organizations, organizational change, leadership, distance learning, and systems thinking. He recently was invited by The University of Michigan to speak before a national audience of community college presidents on new ways of thinking based from his experiences as a private sector, for-profit, university dean.

    Recognition of his achievements includes the Industrial Technology Education Management Award sponsored by the Institute for the Advancement of Engineering, and a number of community college and university excellence in teaching awards.
