  • Sam Abbott-McCune joined Walsh College in 2017, after 25 years of service in the U.S. Army.  During his time in the Army, he joined the academic world at the United States Military Academy teaching in both the Computer Science and Electrical Engineering departments.  His military award in the Bronze Star, Parachutist Badge, and Air Assault. In 2010 Sam was nominated as a Rising Star for his work in information technology by establishing a reconfigurable network lab.

    Sam Abbott-McCune is currently a Ph.D. candidate at VA Tech in Electrical Engineering focusing on Intrusion Detection and Intrusion Prevention on the automotive Controller Area Network.  He earned his Masters of Science in Computer Science from Virginia Commonwealth University and his undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering Technology from Virginia State University.  Also, Sam Abbott-McCune has earned a professional certification of CISSP (Certified Information System Security Profession)
