Collegiate Learning Assessment Plus (CLA+)

To be effective in the workplace, graduates must have not only mastered critical disciplinary business knowledge, they must also be able to communicate both analyses and solutions to critical stakeholders.

The Collegiate Learning Assessment Plus (CLA+) is a performance-based assessment that demonstrates a student’s ability to analyze and evaluate information, solve problems, and structure information and results effectively. In addition to assessing a student’s writing mechanics, the instrument also evaluates performance of business skills including; problem-solving, scientific and quantitative reasoning, critical reading and evaluation, and critical thinking.

The CLA+ is a timed, 90-minute computer-based writing assessment. The instrument is used by colleges and universities across the country and allows Walsh College the ability to not only evaluate the effectiveness of our programs, but it also allows the College to compare the performance of our students to other institutions nationwide.

In addition, because the CLA+ is an accurate assessment of the skills most in demand by employers, a score of Proficient or Advanced on the CLA+ will enable you to earn and display a ProExam digital badge on your electronic resume or your LinkedIn profile.

Michigan Test for English Language Proficiency (MTELP)
