Director of Career Services
Laurie began her career as an employment and training specialist for the State of Michigan after graduating from Wayne State University. She served on the Governor’s Project Self-Reliance Taskforce implementing educational and occupational programming to assist individuals transitioning into new careers.
As a job coach and corporate trainer for Control Data Corporation, she developed employment opportunities for technical and administrative students and facilitated job search strategy workshops for graduates.
As the director of The Employee Assistance Center in Macomb County, she managed EAP programming for more than 100 businesses, school districts, and municipalities, creating and facilitating professional development training, including outplacement programs.
Before joining Walsh College in 1999, she was a career development coordinator at Davenport University. Laurie was promoted to director of career services at Walsh College in 2001.
She has more than 20 years experience in public speaking, coaching, counseling, and training individuals to be successful in attaining career goals.
