Richard Berschback joined Walsh College in 1980, serving as Chair of the Accounting Department from 1980 until 1995. He returned to the Chair position from 2005 until 2012. He previously worked in the auditing departments of PricewaterhouseCoopers and Ernst & Young.

Dr. Gistinger brings her extensive background in public school finance.  She has always had a special interest in governmental entities in fiscal distress.  Her doctoral dissertation titled, “Michigan Schools Reaction to Budgetary Distress,” focused on ways that public schools were adapting to fiscal crisis.

Dr. Sheila R. Ronis is Chair of the Department of Management at Walsh College and teaches the Strategic Management Capstone course of the MBA and the Master of Science in Management programs. She serves as the Director of the Center for Complex and Strategic Decisions at Walsh College, holding a special term appointment with Argonne National Laboratory University of Chicago.

  • David Girodat (BBA '85, MSF '92)

    President & CEO/Fifth Third Bank

    Girodat serves as president and CEO of Fifth Third Bank (Eastern Michigan), which has $5 billion in assets. He is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the bank's four main businesses: Commercial Banking, Branch Banking, Consumer Lending and Investment Advisors.

  • Paul Glantz (MST '84)

    Founder & Chairman and CEO/Emagine Entertainment, Inc. and Proctor Financial Inc. (PFI)

    Glantz is the driving force behind metro Detroit's Emagine Theaters, raising more than $45 million in capital to initiate Emagine Novi, Canton, Rochester Hills, and Royal Oak. Emagine Theaters were recognized by the Detroit News as the Best Theaters in Michigan' for three years running.

  • Dennis Harder (BBA '91, MSF '97)

    Managing Director & Senior VP/Private Bank

    Harder's responsibilities include managing a middle market commercial banking team, sourcing new client opportunities, serving as a member of loan committees, and enhancing the cross sale strategy of the bank. Prior to The Private Bank, he was a senior vice president and middle market Division Manager at LaSalle Bank.

  • John Latella (MSF '99)

    Principal/Latella, Inc.

    Becoming COO in 2007 at the Ferndale-based Garden Fresh Gourmet wasn't a conventional career move for Latella, a lawyer who spent time as senior trial attorney for the Macomb County prosecutor. After selling Garden Fresh to Campbell Soup Co., he now invests in a number of Michigan-based companies.

  • Leon Lewis (MST '98)

    Partner/Deloitte Consulting LLP

    Lewis began his journey to Deloitte in a unique way. It started with a BBA from the University of Michigan and included a CPA license, owning a business of his own for 10 years, a recommendation to return to school, an MST from Walsh College, and finally earning his way to partner at Deloitte in 2004.

  • Jeff Littmann (BAC '77, MST '81)

    Life Trustee & Chairman of the Board/Ralph Wilson, Jr., Foundation

    Littmann is a former chief financial officer for Ralph Wilson Enterprises and for the Buffalo Bills and has managed the venture capital, private equity and investment portfolios that fall under the Wilson umbrella.

    Managing Principal/Wealth Management Services

    Petoskey serves as president of Wealth Management Services LLC, an investment firm providing individuals and companies with thorough investment plans based on their needs and goals. He holds the following licenses to provide insurance and securities: Series 6, 7, 24, 62, Health, Life, Disability and variable contracts.

  • Michael Plotzke (BAC '80, MST '86)

    CFO, VP Finance & Treasurer/Plastipak Packaging

    Plotzke is chief financial officer, Treasurer and vice president-finance, Plastipak Holdings, Inc., a multi-group of corporations headquartered in Plymouth, Michigan, whose principal business activity is related to the blow molding and injection molding of plastic containers for multinational consumer product companies, the distribution and sale of bottled water, and transportation.

  • Lou Schmidt (BBA '90, MSF '97)

    Owner and director/Honey Baked Ham, Co.

    As the owner and director of the family owned Honey Baked Ham Company, Schmidt has told members of the Walsh College community that as a student, he was able to take what he learned in the Walsh College classroom and apply it directly, to his job at The Honey Baked Ham Company.

  • Michael Semanco (BBA '91, MSF '99)

    President, COO/Hitachi Business - Finance

    Semanco serves as president and chief operating officer for Hitachi Business Finance, a relationship-based specialty finance company that provides working capital financing and business coaching to small and mid-sized businesses. He has over 18 years of experience in the financial service industry.

  • Michelle Sherman (MSF '99)

    CFO/Southwest Solutions

    A Detroit native who attended Henry Ford High School, Sherman has spent the better part of her life trying to make a difference. "Southwest Solutions is the second nonprofit I have worked for, and throughout my career I have contributed my time to various organizatiosn supporting inner-city youth and families."

  • Laura Soave (BBA '95)

    Senior VP Chief Marketing Officer/Federal-Mogul Corp

    Soave is responsible for all aspects of marketing and communications globally for Federal-Mogul Motorparts, a $3.2 billion manufacturer of premium auto parts. Walsh taught me how to think holistically about an organization. Every decision I make strategically affects many departments and the future of the organization."

    VP & Controller/Retired

    Carmody has extensive financial and operational experience managing privately held service companies; his key strengths include financial reporting, accounting software, reorganization, corporate taxes, and defined contribution plans.

  • Timothy Moore (BAC '77)

    Managing Partner/Doeren Mayhew, CPA

    A Houston CPA and M&A advisor, Moore is a managing shareholder at Doeren Mayhew. Since 1984, he has been helping business owners set and pursue goals for the future, providing them with the innovative business advice and services necessary to achieve their financial objectives.

  • Deborah Hopkins (BAC '77)

    Chief Innovation Officer/Citigroup

    Hopkins founded and built Citi Ventures recognizing the critical role innovation must play in driving growth at Citi amid accelerating disruptive forces and heightened customer expectations. A lifelong change agent, Hopkins partners with Citi's businesses to shepherd creativity and implement breakthrough solutions.

  • Miceli (MSF '10)

    Executive Campus Director/Carrington College

    Tara Miceli has been appointed executive campus director at the Carrington College's Boise campus. She will lead campus operations, programming, compliance, accreditation and the student experience.
